Hurling updates

August 28, 2014

A Forum to examine the state of hurling in the County and come forward with recommendations for its development or perhaps it's survival was held in Cloghan on Tuesday evening last and following the discussions on the night a report will be prepared to be presented to the County committee for ratification and implementation. On the playing field the hurling year is drawing to a close with the Silver Hill Foods sponsored senior hurling  league now down to the semi-final stage. The first semi-final takes place this evening Thursday, August 28th with the meeting of Truagh and Clontibret in St Mellans Park at 6:45 PM. The second semi-final between Castleblayney and Inniskeen, the same pairing that contested this year's senior hurling championship final, takes place next Tuesday evening, September 2nd in Castleblayney at 6:45pm, a pairing that will produce another stirring contest as Inniskeen will be keen to make up for their defeat and disappointing performance in the senior hurling championship final while Castleblayney will be seeking victory to keep their hopes of completing the senior hurling double alive.
