Toome GFC Notes

April 22, 2014
Senior Team: It was a week of mixed fortunes for the Red Army, Killanny came to St Victors Park last Wednesday evening, and emerged victorious after a battling encounter FT: Toome 0-13 Killanny 1-13. On Sunday, we travelled to Drumhowan, keen to make amends. Drumhowan shaded it for much of the opening half, before an opportunistic long range goal from Alan Lambe handed us the advantage HT: Drumhowan 0-05, Toome 1-4. Again in the second half, Drumhowan started brighter, and when they found the net to go 2 up at the midway point, things were starting to look ominous. However, we rallied once more, and two points from the very enthusiastic Gavin Flanagan levelled matters. It was up for grabs heading into stoppage time, and a good team move was finished with a fisted point from Stephen Lambe to hand us the victory on the narrowest of margins. FT: Drumhowan 1-8 Toome 1-9.
