Drumhowan club notes

Eurotech JFL - Last Saturday ( 12th April ) evening we took on Killeevan away from home. We fielded a depleted team and ended up drawing with the Sarsfields. Final Score was Drumhowan 1 -8 Killeevan 0 -11. Last night (Wednesday 16th April ) we took on near neighbours Blackhill away from home. Please check twitter or facebook for result. With the games coming thick and fast we take on Toome in Drumhowan at 2pm on Sunday 20th April.

Platinum Tanks RFL Div 1B The next game in the competition is away to Castleblayney, on Wednesday 23rd April at 7.30pm

Mc Elvaneys Recycling MFL Div 1 -Last Tuesday 2nd April at home in Ballybay we took on Monaghan Harps. Please check social media for result. Next game is an away one to Killanny on Tuesday 29th April at 7.15

Gerry's Prepared Veg U16 Div 1 The U 16s played Donaghmoyne last Thursday night. Even though the game ended in defeat there was a much better team performance than the first game. The Full Time score was St. Patrick's 1 - 8 Donaghmoyne 1 - 15. They play the Harps tonight ( Thursday 17th April ) in Drumhowan at 6.45pm

Gerry's Prepared Veg U14 Div 3 - This Saturday 19th April the U14s take on Corduff away from home at 12 noon

Gerry's Prepared Veg U12 Spring League Zone F The U12s played Clontibret last Saturday 12th April and suffered their 1st defeat of the campaign, The Final Score was Clontibret 0 - 13 Drumhowan 0 - 12. The next match will be a home game to Cremartin on Saturday 26th April at 12 noon.


Under 10 - We played the Clontibret Parish Community Games team on Monday evening last ( 14th April) in a challenge game. Both sides put on a fine display of football on a good evening for a game. Our boys showed great improvement from the previous weeks game and will be training hard over the coming weeks.

Under 8 - made the trip to Clontibret on Saturday morning last (12th April) to play the locals. For some of our players it was their debut in the blue and gold and they aquitted themselves very well. We had a panel of 20 players and three pitches were in operation meaning everyone got game time. Well done to all players and remember to keep practising at home over the Easter Holidays. Thanks to the Clontibret club for the games and having all set up and organised.


Farney Academy Easter Camp.
Monaghan Coaching and Games Development will be running their annual 3-Day Easter Camp for both boys & girls next week between the 22nd and 24th of April in Pearse Park Ballybay between 10am to 2-30pm. Cost of the camp is €40 per child & €35 for additional children from the same family.The camp caters for boys and girls aged between 5-12 with a wide range of fun games and activities delivered at each camp with Gaelic Football, Hurling and Camogie being at the core of every activity.You can download a form on the Monaghan Gaa website and please return your application form to Paul O' Connor in Cloghan asap or register on the first day of camp.
Go Games Referee - We are looking for referees for the Go Games Under 8/10. Each club must supply at least 2 referees. You must be over 14 and you will receive €15 per blitz. Anyone interested contact Donal Mc Adam,
Go Games 2014 - The first Blitz of the year takes place on Saturday 26th April at 10am in Threemilehouse. This will be a double blitz for both the Under 8 and Under 10 squads. We will have games against Seans, Ballybay and Rockcorry. More details next week.

Juvenile Training - There is no training on Easter Monday evening - it will take place instead at 7pm on Tuesday 22nd for all ages from U6 to U14.

D Cube - Drumhowan are pleased to announce they will be the first club in Monaghan to run D Cube Fundraiser. It will take place on Saturday 14th June. €5000 euro to be won. If any Club, Charity or person is interested in taking part please contact John Reilly, Martin Mc Elearney or any of the organising committee for further information. We are also looking for further help in the organisation of the event. Please contact the same people above if interested.

Allianz National Football league Division 2 Final - will take place in Croke Park on Sunday 27th April at 2pm. After the Monaghan v Donegal Game Derry will take on Dublin in the Division 1 final. Club Tickets can be ordered from Enda Duffy by sending an email to [email protected] or texting him on 086 - 175 0165 before tomorrow (Friday 18th April) at 11am. Full details will be available on the club's facebook page. After this point tickets can be bought online at tickets.ie or at any Centra or Super Valu store. Tickets can also be bought on the day but adult prices will be €25 instead of the pre purchase prices of €20. U16s will be €5. Student and OAP prices still have to be confirmed. However please remember that best tickets will be available from the club.
