Toome GAA notes

April 08, 2014
5k/10k/20k Run: A massive crowd is expected in Toome this Saturday for the Annual Run! The stretch in the evening is helping the athletes training regimes and we've noticed quite a few people walking and running around our course in preparation! The race starts at 11am, with registration opening at 10am. A group warm up will take place on the Astroturf at 10:45. We will need stewarding and help on the day to ensure the smooth running of the event, so all hands will be on deck! Refreshments will be served on the day, best of luck to all participants!

Senior Team: We welcome our neighbours Oram to St Victor's Park this Saturday. The Old Firm derby throws in at 7pm. All support welcome! We travel to Killanny on Wednesday evening at 7:15, and we are on the road again on Sunday week, as we travel to Drumhowan for a 2pm throw in. It promises to be an exciting week!

Reserves: We welcomed Blackhill to St Victor's Park last Saturday evening. Short a few regulars, we struggled to maintain good early momentum. A stronger Blackhill side won out in the end 3-10 to 1-7. Foireann: S Murphy; G Connolly, PJ Kelly; D Friskey, D Wilson, A Cunningham; N Adair, S McCooey; R Fee, S Moore, R Murphy; L McCooey, H Connolly. Subs: C McGovern, B Morgan, P Walsh. Next game is away to Currin on Wednesday 23rd at 7:30pm.

Minor: Played Emyvale on Tuesday (8th) and host Doohamlet on Tuesday 15th at 7pm, best wishes the lads for the coming year.

Under 16: Our first match v Aghabog was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. We host Doohamlet on Thursday 10th April at 6:30pm, and travel to Tyholland on Thursday 17th for a 6:45 throw in.

Under 14s: Were very unfortunate to lose away to Killeevan last Saturday, there were good performances from all players, and there were planty of encouraging signs for the year ahead. Next game is away to Oram on Saturday 19th at 12pm. Training continues every Tuesday at 7:30pm.

Under 12s: We travel to Aughnamullen for a 5:45pm throw in on Friday evening, meeting in Toome at 5pm.

Under 10s and Under 8s: Training every Saturday morning at 11:00. Everybody welcome, for what is an entertaining hour of football!

Nursery Games: Toome Nursery Games for U-6's continues every Friday at 6.30pm in Toome Centre. New members are very welcome, so come along and join in the fun.

Well Done: To James McMahon and Sean Callan, who were selected to play in the schools game at half time of the Monaghan v Galway match on Sunday. Big James impressed in an unfamiliar role at half back, while Sean played well as always at full back.

Twitter: Updates will be available for most Toome senior games this year on the club's twitter page @tuaimclg.

Circuit Training: Continues every Monday and Thursday at 7:30. For anyone wishing to get in shape for the 5k/10k, this could be a good place to start!

AstroTurf: For bookings on our 3G all-weather facility contact Louis @ 087-6503826.
