Clontibret Fun Run
A brilliant day was had by all last Saturday when we held our inaugural 10/5kmFun Run in association with the Parents Association of Scoil Mhuire and O'Neill Shamrocks. There was a great turnout from the Community in that we had over 300 people that participated on the day. It was a great family occasion where Dooskey provided the music to create a party like atmosphere, and the children embraced the face painting and fancy dress with spidermen to 11811 boys crossing the finishing line. The route was well marshalled and the registrars and time keepers kept a close eye on proceedings. There was great refreshment and snacks for all participants and volunteers in the Community Centre after the race were the hall committee and parents brought much needed nourishment to our race finishers. We would like to thank anybody that helped out on the day and the local businesses that contributed to making the day run smoothly.  The winners on the day: Male 10km 1st - Brian McCluskey in 35.03 from North East Runners Dundalk, Female 1St - Emma McKenna in 43.15 from Phoenix. Male 5km 1st - Patrick Murphy, Glaslough Harriers - 17.39, 1st Female - Lorraine Gormley - 22.59. Best fancy dress went to Jack Flynn & Caoloan Keenan. Loads of spot prizes were given out on the day.
