The news that Seamus McEnaney was continuing as manager of Monaghan for another year was confirmed at Monday night's county board meeting and will be greeted with relief throughout the county that he is prepared to give it one more year and see if a fifth season could produce some so far elusive honours. Seamus McEnaney had indulged in some deep soul-searching over the past number of weeks before coming to his decision, a decision that was only reached a short time before last Monday night's county committee meeting convened. As well as Seamus McEnaney's appointment last Monday night's county committee meeting also ratified the reappointment of Bernie Murray as manager of the county minor football team and Frank Brady as manager of the county senior and U21 hurling teams.
