Return To Play:

GAA club championship action at all levels across all codes has heralded the return to action in a new and very different environment. Post-lockdown action in the new norm is a totally new ballgame! Corduff Gaels and Corduff Ladies Committees and teams have worked tirelessly to ensure procedures in compliance with the Public Health Regulations and the GAA guidelines are in place to ensure the health and safety of everyone . Face coverings, signage, ticket only, no programmes, matches live streamed , limited capacity, social distancing are the new norm and on that note Corduff Gaels & Ladies Committees, players and spectators have to be commended on the manner in which they are all adhering to the guidelines.

Mc Elvaney’s Waste & Recycling Intermediate Championship Round 2:

Sun drenched Corduff was the venue last Sunday afternoon for the third round of the Intermediate Championship which was played in ideal conditions. Corduff entered this match coming off a good win over Blackhill in the first round and a draw the previous weekend in Currin. However for the second consecutive week it took a last gasp score deep in injury time to draw level with Cremartin. The first quarter was a nip and tuck affair with good defending by Corduff at one end while scores from Feargal Hanratty, Gavin Mc Enaney and Jason Hand put the sides level at 0-4 each by the first water break. Cremartin’s marksmen, in particular Paddy McNally proved to be a thorn in Corduff’s side holding the hosts scoreless between the first water break and half time as Cremartin took control going ahead on a scoreline of 0-8 to 0-4 at the interval. The second half continued in the same fashion with Cremartin ahead by 4 at the 2nd water break 0-9 to 0-5. It looked as if the game was slipping away from Corduff when a spirited final quarter performance led by captain Pádraic Keenan brought them right back into contention. Having emptied the bench Corduff narrowed the margin as Gavin,Feargal,Jason and substitute Brendan McNally reduced the difference to a point. The final score of the match by Brendan levelled matters on 0-11 each deep in injury time. Based on that result Corduff maintain the top of the table position with one match left which is this Saturday away to Éire. We wish the team, Brendan and his backroom team good luck on Saturday in Smithborough. Throw-in at 4pm.

Live-streaming by Byrne Performance.

By the first water break Corduff had further extended their lead  2-05 to 0-03 with a smashing goal from Louise Byrne. Truagh got off a brilliant start in the second half scoring 2 goals and a point cancelling out 2 of Corduff's goals. With only a goal between the side it looked as if Truagh were going to get the upped hand. This wasn't to be as scores from Louise Byrne,Laura McEnaney and Emma Conlon stretched Corduff's lead again getting Corduff safely over the line on a final score of 3-16 to 2-12.
