U17 Division 2 Championship: The U17's (Clan na Gael) had their fourth outing in the Maguire International Transport Division 2 Championship, on Tuesday 4th August with an away fixture against Emyvale. In what were awful wet conditions the lads never got going at all and played a very organised and skilful Emyvale side. Despite this match being all one-way traffic, the lads did show some promise and at times some great football themselves. However, the final touch was just not forthcoming on the night and we never seemed to get any of the breaking ball. This was a heavy defeat but this is a great group of players and they never give up. FT Score FT CnG 1:07 - Emyvale 6:19.

Scorers on the night - Eoin (Tincer) Gorman 0-2(2f), Joey McMahon 0-1, Tom McMahon 1-1, Thomas McMahon 0-2, Shane Kelly 0-1.

Hard luck to the lads and management.

U15 Division 3 Championship: The U15's play as Clan na Gael and played their third match in an away fixture against Inniskeen. They headed off to Iniskeen with two wins from two, although it was expected to be a competitive match confidence was good. The game was a bit scrappy in the first half with a lot of squandered chances from both sides. The lads missed plenty of scoring chances and never optimised their time on the ball taking shots from awkward angles and from too long a range, scores were kept to a minimum and by the water break it was Iniskeen who were ahead by a point, 0:01 - 0:02. Play resumed without much change in the play, poor decisions let us down and we just could not get in the mix. Both teams were cancelling each other out and at half time only a point remained the difference in Inniskeen's favour 0:03 - 0:04. The second half resumed and started off a livelier affair with a goal from Inniskeen and a point each within a couple of minutes of play. CnG got a goal back and still had the winning of the game, then just before the second water break of the match another goal against us and we trailed by 5, score now at 1:06 - 2:09. The last quarter of the match and we looked dead on our feet, with some missed opportunities and good play by Inniskeen it meant they had the match under control. This ended up a heavy defeat, the lads gave it their all and with a few players missing through injury and a couple of others away, the lads were a bit unlucky and came second to a better team on the night. FT Score CnG 2:05 Inniskeen 5:13. Hard luck lads and good luck this week.

Scorers on the night - Glenn Forde 0:01(f), Josh Hannon 1:02(1f), Ben Mone 1:02(1f), Stephen Kelly 0:01, Jamie Laverty 0:01.
