Doohamlet club notes

March 25, 2020

At this moment we are experiencing and living in extraordinary times.  The world has changed beyond recognition in the last few weeks and our GAA community has had to adapt in ways we could not have previously imagined.  We are all in this together and work as a club/community.  We must all practise social distancing and follow all guidelines from the HSE.

It’s very important that we all know where our sons/daughters have been, it’s vital they keep their distance from others.  If we cannot answer these questions we are failing our hospitals, society’s and most vulnerable.   We appreciate that it’s very difficult to stay at home, but if we do what has been recommended by the HSE  then the virus  will be contained quicker and we can all get back to normality quicker.

We all have a role to play to stop the spread of coronavirus.  This will only be beaten if we all take it seriously and do the right thing.  Social distancing will save the lives of our parents, grandparents and relatives with health issues. Please be responsible and do not go out in groups risking the lives of others. You may feel healthy and well but yet may be a carrier of the virus and could spread it to others.

At these difficult times we must rally together as a club and community and do what we can to support each other.  We will look out for our neighbours, the elderly and those more vulnerable in our community and help out in any way we can.   Remember to check HSE websites for updates on the virus.

Remember to keep active and keep exercising and practising your football skills, when we fight this virus we will all be back out again playing football or supporting our club.

Come dine with me has been postponed till later in the year. Take care of yourselves and stay safe.

Condolences:  Doohamlet GFC wish to convey our deepest sympathy to Mary B O Neill and family on the recent death of Felix Duffy, Carga, Ballybay.    Ar dheis De go raibh a h-anam.
