Corduff club notes

January 07, 2020

Corduff Gaels and Corduff Ladies would like to wish all volunteers, players, mentors, coaches, sponsors, supporters and anyone who helped out with the clubs in any way over the last year and indeed the last decade a very happy and peaceful new year with hopefully much to celebrate both on and off the field of play!

As a new decade dawns it’s an opportune time to reflect on the past decade.  What were the stand-out highlights? What were the stand-out memories? What has changed? Briefly there were many stand-out highlights and memories! From the beginning of the decade the juvenile structures have gone from strength to strength in both codes and they can boast of capturing many county titles .

At juvenile level one stand-out moment had to be when Corduff hosted Feile for an historic first time in 2017 which was followed by another historic first when Corduff Ladies qualified for Feile in 2019.

Corduff Gaels Minor team completed 2 Minor Historic doubles in succession when they won the Division 2 Double in 2015 followed by the historic Division 1 Double in 2016. While Corduff Gaels Reserve team won the 2017 Double silverware has eluded the senior men. On the other hand Corduff Ladies rose to great heights in 2017 by reaching the Junior Championship All-Ireland Final. Both Scoil Phádraig and Corcreagh NS continue to deliver by winning Cumann na mBunscol titles. All this together with the excellent facilities in Corduff give us much hope for the new decade and we can look forward to the ‘20s with optimism.
