Monaghan’s Vinny Corey has announced his retirement from inter-county football following 17 years of service to the Farney County.
Corey won Ulster SFC titles with his home county in 2015 and 2013 after having made his senior championship debut in the white and blue against Armagh back in ’03.
Last year saw him starting at centre-back in Monaghan’s first All-Ireland semi-final appearance in 30 years at Croke Park, where neighbours Tyrone won out by the minimum.
Following Dessie Mone’s retirement earlier today, Clontibret GAA paid tribute to both stalwarts saying: "Both were the backbone of the Monaghan defence and indeed attack on so many of our great days and will long be remembered in the annals of Monaghan football.”
