The Late Tom King: On Tuesday morning sad news filtered around the parish surrounding the death of Tom King Cooltrimegish. Tom and members of his family have been directly involved in our club for up to the last 50 years and we are indebted to their contributions in this regard. The facilities that surround  our GAA grounds are as a testament of Tom's contribution to the club when in 1972 the club purchased 7 acres from him and the club will be always indebted to him and his family for this. Tom was a true Aughnamullen supporter when it came to any fundraising initiative the club undertook  and was always on hand delivering gravel when the club needed to repair the grounds at sometimes short notice and also supporting his sons James, Thomas and David when they represented the blues and Daughter Josephine when she played with the camogie team. Today the King family is still heavily involved in club affairs with daughter Bernie at present serving on the committee. Sincerest sympathy is extended to his wife Mary, Daughters Josephine & Bernie, Sons James, Thomas & David and their extended families, brother Malachy sisters Deirdre & Carol and their families. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

AGM: Due to the passing of the late Tom King our Annual General Meeting has been deferred to Monday 2nd December in the Social Centre at 8pm. However Mass for the deceased members of the club still takes place on this Friday evening next the 29th of November at 7.30pm in St Marys Church Carrickatee.

Monaghan GAA Volunteer Scheme: Aughnamullen's Nominee as Volunteer Recognition Recipient 2019 is Ian Johnston our current Vice Chairman & Groundsman.Ian has been a longstanding member of our club. For the past four years he has been our Groundsman. Having such a positive attitude, he is an invaluable member of our club and community. Ian not only maintains our pitches and clubhouse to the highest of standards but he is constantly looking at ways for improving them year on year. He pays so much attention to detail in the upkeep and standard of the pitches so that they are in immaculate condition for matches. His dedication is second to none spending many hours working at the clubhouse looking after our facilities. When a task needs to be done, Ian would be one of the first to volunteer his services. He has played a major role in our fundraising activities. When a problem arises, Ian will immediately take an active part in seeking a solution. He will investigate all avenues and them communicate his findings back to the committee.

Ian has an easy going personality, always approachable and available to help and advise. In conclusion, Ian is the outstanding volunteer in our club for this award.

Congratulations: Congratulations is extended to Anthony Greenan Formill & Theresa Treacy Castleblayney who were married last weekend.

Sympathy: Sympathy is extended to the Traynor Family Ballybay on the sad death of Joe Traynor. Joe was a member of the 1957 Junior Championship winning side where he played in goal and played a pivotal role in the clubs first success at adult level defeating Cremartin in the final in Ballybay. May god have mercy on his soul. Also to Son Sean, Daughters Karen & Anita and their extended families on the death of Mena Mc Ardle Laggan may god have mercy on her soul.
