Congratulations to our very own town of Glaslough in Co Monaghan which has been awarded the title of Ireland's tidiest town. There was a record number of 918 entrants in this year's Tidy Towns competition, which had the theme of "caring for our environment". It was a double victory for Glaslough, which also took home the title of Ireland’s tidiest village. Congratulations again to everyone involved in this magnificent achievement.
Seniors championship run came to an end last Sunday against a strong Magheracloone team. It was a tense affair throughout with both teams trading scores at each end with half time 1.4 to 5pts. Magheracloone commanded a four point lead in the third quarter and the game looked like slipping away from Emyvale. A well worked moved from defence and an inch perfect pass from Daniel Mc Mahon to David Mc Allister resulted in Emyvales goal which left one point between the sides. Magheracloone’s Padraig Mc Mahon and Allan Kieran got the next two important scores and the ran out eventual 1.13 to 1.9 winners. C Forde, S Mc Meel, A Loughran, D Bellew, G Devlin, R Mc Anespie (0-2), R Kelly, M Flannery, C Hughes, M O’Brien, R McAllister, K Mc Quaid (0-1), D McMahon(0-4), D Mc Allister (1-2), N McKenna Subs used: R Treanor for D Bellew. Next up for our lads is the last round of the intermediate league with a home game to Cremartin. Throw in time 12pm. Come out and support the lads and the finish off there 2019 campaign.
