Emyvale club notes

September 10, 2019

Seniors were defeated in the Intermediate Championship by Donaghmoyne at the weekend on a scoreline of 3.12 to 1.17. Next up for is Donaghmoyne again in the league this Sunday away with a throw in time of 12.30.

U9’s took part in the Tyholland tournament last Saturday. Having fought their way through the group stage the team qualified for the shield , making it all the way to extra time in the shield final. Unfortunately Tyholland took the spoils after extra time in a game that ebbed and flowed. However everyone enjoyed and learned a lot from the day and will no doubt stand to these girls and boys in the future. Thanks to Tyholland for inviting us. Next up is the annual Newbridge blitz this Saturday. Training Wednesday and Friday evenings.

U11’s played in the Mick Farrell tournament in Monaghan Harps last Saturday. Another successful outing for these lads winning the shield competition, defeating near neighbours Truagh by a single point in a entertaining final. Many thanks to Monaghan Harps for the invite and the hospitality on the day. Training Monday and Wednesday evenings. Next blitz is our own Bc blitz on Saturday 21st September.

U13s enjoyed another successful weekend, winning both division 2&6 championship semifinals. The division 6 team overcame Inniskeen on Sunday , and play Carrickmacross in the final. While the division 2 team defeated a tough Clones team on Saturday, with the final v Magheracloone on Saturday at 1pm in Monaghan Harps. Training continues Monday and Thursday evenings in preparation for the final push. Hopefully a big crowd will come out and support our lads in the finals. Best of luck to all involved.

U15 season finished up last Thursday evening when they bowed out of the Championship at the quarter final stage coming up short against Inniskeen. We competed well in the first half and went in a the break with a two point lead, but Inniskeen with a strong wind behind them proved too strong and pulled away in the second half. Well done to all players for their hard work and dedication throughout the year and we wish some of our older players every luck with the U17 team. Thanks as well to our mentors Martin O’Brien, Kieran Walsh, Jarlath Colleran, Paudie Donohue & Barry Sherry for all their work with this group this year. Finally thanks to all the parents for their support and encouragement throughout the year.
