Aughnamullen club notes

Intermediate Championship: All roads lead to Inniskeen next Saturday evening at 6pm when Aughnamullen play near neighbours Corduff in the Intermediate Championship. Best wishes is extended to the team and management and we hope that the team can get the win.

 

Intermediate League: On Sunday last the Senior team played away to Monaghan Harps and came away with a 7 point defeat. In the first half there was little to separate the sides with the scores level on a number of occasions and at half time it was 1-06 to 0-09. In the second half however the home side gained momentum and scored a number of crucial scores to go into the lead a lead they never relinquished and ran out winners on a score line of 1-17 to 1-10.

 

Lotto: The Lotto was held on Sunday last the numbers drawn out were 3,13, 20 & 23 there was no winner

Under 19: The U19 team played away to Latton in the Semi Final of the league on Friday night last. Despite a gallant effort by the boys they effectively ended losing by 1-13 to 1-07. Thanks is extended to the management team of Edmond Mc Ardle, Mark Meegan & John Sheridan with the team this year

 

Under 17: The Under 17 team played Tyholland in Aughnamullen on Tuesday evening last winning by 4-10 to 2-15. This was an excellent game of football between the 2 sides. Aughnamullen led by 3-5 to 2-5 at half time they increased that lead to 6 however Tyholland came back and entering injury time the sides were level but a close in free for Aughnamullen proved the difference in the end. Next game is the Championship next Tuesday night at home to Corduff at 7.30pm.

 

Under 15: The Under 15 team won their 2nd game in the Championship on Friday evening last defeating Scotstown by 7-12 to 4-8. This was an entertaining game throughout with some fine scores from both sides. Next game in the competition is against Aghabog where a win will guarantee a quarter final spot.

 

Under 13: The U13 team had a comfortable victory over Eire Og on Saturday last. They play Tyholland tonight(Thursday) in Clontibret at 7.30pm. Best wishes is extended to team and management.

 

Under 11: The U11 team play Killevan in cloghan next Tuesday night the 20th of August at 7pm. Best wishes to the team and management.

 

Ladies Football: The Ladies Reserve team were unluckily beaten by Carrickmacross in the league semi final last Saturday night on a score line 1-08 to 0-10 thus ending the Senior team for the coming year thanks is extended to Joe Gilliland & Anita Finnegan for all their help with the team this year. The U12 team had a good win over Magheracloone on Friday last and played away to Emyvale (last Night).

 

Congratulations: Congratulations is extended to Lee & Julieann Conlan on the birth of a baby girl recently. News has it that Lee is sleeping more than his new baby daughter is at present. Also congratulations to Erin Hamill Lurgangreen who celebrated her 18th Birthday last weekend.

 

Well Done: Well Done is extended to the Lambe Family Formill & Ballytrain Dairy Shorthorns at the Tullamore Show last weekend.

 

Congratulations: Congratulations is extended to all our young boys & girls on their leaving cert results during the week.

 

Castleblayney Tractor Run: There is a Tractor Run in Castleblayney this Sunday. It is hoped to anyone who wishes to go into the run to meet at Aughnamullen Social Centre at 11.45am. Registration takes place from Blackhill GAA grounds at 12 noon.

 

Fundraising Draw: Tickets are currently on sale for our development draw which is being held in October if you wish to purchase one contact any committee member.
