Monaghan Harps then scored their first point but back came the Sarsfields with another point from the boot of the aforementioned Duffy and a great counter attack goal finished to the net by wing half back Alan Markey who has started the year in brilliant form with his second goal in 2 games considering he did not score a goal throughout the whole of last year and the half ended with points by Niall Keenan and Tiernan Duffy to leave the blues up by 2-05 to 0-2. In the second half it was felt playing against the elements the pressure would be against the wall however this never materialised as the defence martialled by veteran Lee Conlan at centre half back ably assisted by youngsters Kieran Marron and Shane Lambe and other established defenders Michael Keenan and Stephen Ward and custodian Eugene Bannigan held the harps scoreless throughout the second half. With midfielders Kieran Duffy & Stephen Geoghegan controlling midfield the forwards continued to create space with further scores by Damien Duffy, James Keenan and Tiernan Duffy with great work by Shane Forde and Patrick Sheridan and substitutes like the evergreen Christopher Keenan who chipped in with a fine score and other substitutes like Packie Marron, Eoin Sheridan, Joel Wilson & Dean Johnston the boys ran out easy winners on a score line of 2-14 to 0-2.  Next game is on Saturday 23rd March with a home game against Emyvale at 5pm
