Monaghan manager Malachy O’Rourke doesn’t buy into the theory that this weekend’s clash against Tyrone is a must win game for either side.

O’Rourke points to the fact that there are still three games to play after Saturday’s clash at Healy Park.

The Farney County have not won a game since their opening day win over Dublin, but O’Rourke is not getting carried away, according to the Ulster Herald.

“After this weekend, there are still six points to play for and every game is very much 50/50 and it’s about preparing as well as we can for all of them,” said O’Rourke.

“There’s certainly no panic at this stage but we know we have to improve our performance. Against Dublin we weren’t happy with a lot of our first half performance but we were very good in the second half.

“Against Roscommon we started poorly but had a good second half and even the last day against Galway, I thought we controlled the game in the first half against a very strong wind but then we didn’t kick on in the second half.

“It’s been a mixed bag and we’re trying to get a more consistent performance and improve on the things we haven’t been doing well.”
