Annual Poker Classic: The Annual Poker Classic takes place this Saturday the 19th January 2019 commencing at 7pm. Admission is €50 with buy-ins and top ups valued at €20. If anyone wishes to purchase tickets they can contact John Hamilton on 0868592865 or Angela Geoghegan Duffy on 0861012243

Juvenile Meeting: There is a very important juvenile meeting this Thursday night ( tonight) at 8pm in the Social Centre.  Anyone wishing to help with Juvenile teams this year are invited to attend. Please support this as the Juveniles are the future of the club.

Membership: Membership is now due they still can pay their membership by either contacting Club Treasurers Debbie Mc Ardle or Rosemary Johnston or any other committee member. Juvenile Registration takes place on Sunday 3rd February from 5pm - 7pm in the Social Centre. Registration fees are as follows €15 per child or family of 4 €50. All players must be registered members before training starts.

Annual Supper Dance: The Annual Supper Dance will be held on Saturday 16th February in the Social Centre. More Details later.

Operation Transformation in Aughnamullen:

The GAA, in partnership with RTÉ's Operation Transformation, and supported by Healthy Ireland and Get Ireland Walking, hope to bring together communities across the 32 counties to enjoy healthy walks in the safe environs of their own GAA club. The initiative is known as Ireland Lights Up and we are delighted to confirm that Aughnamullen has signed up to the program which starts at our GAA grounds on Thursday 17th Jan (tonight)and runs for 6 weeks on Thursday nights between 7 and 9pm. Everyone regardless of their fitness levels or their age are welcome to participate and you can walk whatever distance or for whatever length of time suits you. A register of participants each week will be sent to the RTE program and a number of clubs will be chosen each week for recording and transmission of their activities.

Ladies Committee: The Ladies Committee are seeking a new chairperson if anyone is interested please contact Secretary Annie on 0873238441.

First Communion/ Confirmation: With First Holy communion on the 11th May and Sacrament of Confirmation on the 19th May Aughnamullen Social Centre are awarding special packages for families for meals and entertainment on these dates.  For further details contact  Club Chairman Paddy Markey on 0876839256 Club Secretary Ann Blanche on 0834191986 or the Social Centre on 0429745626 after 8pm.

Blood Donation Clinic: The next Blood Donation Clinic will be held on Wednesday 23rd January and Thursday 24th January in the Glencarn Hotel between 4.30pm - 8pm. Please support this cause.

Congrats: Congratulations is extended to Brian & Claire Duffy Crossduff on the birth of a baby boy recently.

Best Wishes: Best wishes is extended to Marie Boyd(nee Mc Ginn) who at present is in hospital.

Sympathy: Sympathy is extended to Margaret Brady Formill on the death of her nephew Kevin Duffy Cootehill who died recently. May god have mercy on his soul. To the Mc Eneaney & Mc Adam Family Carrickatee on the death of Nicholas Mc Eneaney Cavanguilla may god have mercy on his soul. To Patsy Mc Connon Corduff who produced videos for the club for a number of years on the death of his brother Michael Mc Connon Corduff may god have mercy on his soul.

Lough Egish Rod & Gun Club: The Lough Egish Rod & Gun Club have organised the installation of a defibrillator at Loughmourne National school. Two Defibrillator Training Courses to be held on Wed 23rd Jan or Wed 30th Jan.  The course runs for 3 hours from 7.30pm until 10.30pm in Loughmourne N.S. Anyone from the parish or working in the area interested in learning to use a defibrillator or in need of a refresher course please text Joe Gilliland on 0868959815 as soon as possible. In the event of there being more people interested than places available, then a first come, first served principle will apply. The Gun Club will subsidise the course costs and only ask for a €5 donation from each participant. This has only been possible with the goodwill of the parish and National School and everyone who supported the game night in 2018 including the sponsors, those who attended and especially all the farmers in our area. Thank you all for your continued support.

Data Protection: In conjunction with Data Protection rules governing GAA if any member or parent of child wish that they do not their name be included in club notes or photographs on clubs social media can they contact the club as soon as possible thank you.

Fitness Classes: With the start of Operation Transformation in the parish it is an ideal time to look at what other activities you can do to compliment your Thursday night walk. For the early risers the very popular morning Boot Camp starts on Tuesday next 22nd January at 6-30am and finishing at 7-15am. There are still a few places available on Monday and Wednesday night Spinning Classes at 8pm. Circuits and general fitness classes continue on Tuesday and Thursday nights at the earlier time of 7pm and on Saturday mornings you can walk jog or run at 9am. Due to demand a new course initially aimed at under -13 and under -15 boys starts with Lukas in the Fitness Centre this Saturday morning at 9-30am. The focus will be on general fitness, posture, discipline, confidence, healthy diet and of course fun. There will be a small cover charge which will be dictated by the number of participants. All boys between the ages of 12 and 15 regardless of their sporting interest are invited along for 9-30am on Saturday morning. It is hoped to start a similar course for girls shortly.
