Monaghan goalkeeper Rory Beggan capped a memorable weekend off by landing a point from play in Scotstown’s Ulster club SFC quarter-final victory over Burren in Newry.
Beggan’s score arrived in the 24th minute of the Farney County champions’ 0-13 to 0-10 win at Pairc Esler earlier today after taking a return pass from Frank Caulfield off his own ‘45’ and slotting directly between the home side's posts.
Last Friday night saw the Monaghan no 1 picking up his first All Star award on a team which included three Farney representatives in total, with Karl O’Connell and Conor McManus among the accolade winners.
Scotstown now prepare to face Eoghan Rua Coleraine next Sunday after the Derry champions overcame Castlerahan (Cavan) by 2-11 to 0-11 in Kingscourt.
Take a look at both of Beggan’s scores (the other was a trademark ‘45’) from this afternoon below:

TweetJust one of a number of sublime Rory Beggan moments today in Newry, he was worth the entry fee alone.. In my opinion easily the best in the game at the present moment in time! #AllStar #UlsterClub pic.twitter.com/ntVnFtKz0P
