FIXTURES

There is a fairly limited programme of fixtures on the club scene in Monaghan this weekend as the league competitions are building to their final stages but Monaghan also has two representatives, setting out on their Ulster club championship campaigns, Emyvale in the Junior football competition and Castleblayney hurlers in the Junior hurling championship.

MFC

The program of games for the weekend gets under way on Saturday afternoon with the replay of the minor football championship division two final between Sean McDermotts and Doohamlet, that one in Gavin Duffy Park Monaghan at 4:30 PM.

LEAGUES

Moving to Sunday there are two games in the Euro Tech Junior football league, the shield final between Oram and Scotstown in Blackhill at 2:30 PM, the same time as the cup semi final between Drumhowan and Cremartin in Drumhowan. There are two games in the Shoe City senior football league, Ballybay at home against Clontibret, a difficult game for Ballybay to lift themselves after losing out last Sunday and the other game sees the meeting of Inniskeen and Magheracloone in Inniskeen, both games at 3.00 PM.

There are four games on Sunday in the Monaghan Electric intermediate football league, all at 3 PM, Corduff at home against Currin, Sean McDermotts away at Toome, Killanny at home to Donaghmoyne and Tyholland away at Aughnamullen.

ULSTER CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

Monaghan senior hurling champions Castleblayney H C embark on their Ulster club Junior hurling championship campaign when they travel to Letterkenny to take on Donegal champions Burt, that one on Sunday at 2:30 PM. The Monaghan Junior football champions, Emyvale are also in action at the weekend in the preliminary round of the Ulster club Junior football championship when they take on the newly crowned Cavan champions Drumlane with that game fixed for Kildallan (Ballyconnell) on Saturday at 2:30 PM. Extra time and finish on the day applies to both of these Ulster club championship matches.
