Doohamlet club notes

October 03, 2018

Minors:  A gutsy performance from our Minors on Sunday last in this Maguire International Div 2 Minor final.  This match  preceded the Junior final and with a strong wind and greasy underfoot conditions both teams struggled to gain a foothold in the game.  Seans playing with the elements in the first half led by only a single point at half time and Doohamlet would have been happy turning around with the wind.  But a Seans goal after the resumption meant Doohamlet were chasing the game there after and would have to settle for a draw after Sean Markey levelled in stoppage time.

The replay is fixed for Saturday 14th Oct in Monaghan Harps ground.  Throw in 4.20pm.

Intermediate Championship:  All roads lead to St. Marys Park Castleblayney on Saturday next for two semi-finals of the McElvaney W&R Intermediate Championship.  Doohamlet are first up against Donaghmoyne at 3pm. Both sides have quality and match winners throughout their team and this promises to be a cracking game.  Doohamlet hope to have a full team to choose from after a number of niggly injuries have cleared and hopefully both sides will be at full strength.  We ask all Doohamlet supporters to arrive in full voice and help the team to reach the final.  Good Luck to all players  and management.

Well Done:   To our young players Darragh McBride, Jamie Marron Casey and Mattie Duffy who represented our club on Sunday last in Croke Park.  A wonderful experience for these young players.

Poker Classic:  Huge Thank You to our team Physio Tony Brady who organised a hugely successful Poker Classic in Connollys on Sunday evening last.  This was a very entertaining evening for all involved and special thanks to Marion and Alexis for being such generous hosts.

Blotto week 01/10:  No Jackpot winner, numbers drawn 2, 3, 5, 7, 1, 4, 6.  Lucky dip winners Sally & Grandchildren,  Doohamlet, Siobhan Smyth, Annyalla, Rory McManus, Grigg, Eamon Hughes (Junior), Oghill, Bridget Connolly, Corleanamaddy.  Next weeks Jackpot €10,000.
