Shoe City SFL Clontibret 0-13 Carrickmacross 1-12
In a hard fought game in Carrick last Saturday we lost out by two points in the end. Next game is in Ballybay on 14th October with Blayney to play after that.
Juveniles
U17
Congratulations to the players and management of our U17 team who defeated Truagh in the Div 3 Championship last Sunday. After a bright opening and some good play the team had opened up a two goal lead entering the final moments of the first half but a quick fire goal and a point by Truagh left us only 2 points up at halftime. However, when the second half started the boys knuckled down and piled on the pressure on Truagh to open up a considerable gap with a flurry of scores to eventually win on an overall score of 4-12 to 1-12. The boys now move their attention back to league with their next fixture due to take place on Sunday 14th.
U9
The boys travelled to Tyholland last Saturday for an U9 tournament. After some tough games in the group stages the boys entered the shield competition and went all the way to the final. After a terrific performance they had a narrow win against a very gallant St. Eunan’s team from Donegal on a score line of 6 points to 4 to win the match . Well done to the players and management. The next outing is this Sunday for the boys in Keady. Management will be in touch with the details.
U6/U7
The boys had their end of year party in GR8 last Friday. Well done to all the players for turning up every week and a special thank you to the parents and coaches for making their training enjoyable.

New Pitch and Track
Work has been progressing favourably on our new development over the past few weeks. The new full size Prunty Pitch has now been laid, the seeds have been sown and hopefully the grass will be growing over the coming weeks. The 1km walking track which will be fully lit is currently being laid around the outer perimeter of both the new pitch and the existing pitch and should be ready by the end of the month. This of course means that we now move on to the next phase which is the erection of perimeter fencing, balls stops, goal posts and dug outs. To help fund this we will be looking for another year’s contribution from our Clontibret Our Future members and your promoter will be calling with you soon. Try to be as generous again this year as you have been in the past as much great work has been done and we now want to see it completed.
