Elvaney’s Waste and Recycling Intermediate Championship :

Championship action continued last Sunday with Round  2A of Mc Elvaney’s Waste and Recycling Intermediate Championship when Corduff played  Sean McDermotts  in Gavin Duffy Park Monaghan.

This was certainly a game of 2 halves with Corduff enjoying a dominant first half going in with a 6 point advantage at the interval having kept Sean Mc Dermotts to 3 points on a scoreline of 0-9 to 0-3.

Sean McDermotts took control of the second half from the throw up and soon reduced the margin to 2 points. Corduff responded with a goal to put them 5 points ahead but Seans once again took control and the sides were level by the 20th minute. Scores were hard earned by both sides at this stage but both sides registered a point pushing the game into extra time on 1-11 each.

Goals win matches and the extra time became a goal fest for Seans. The margin between the sides continued to widen and Corduff faced an uphill battle to reduce with as Seans eased to victory.
