Former Kerry star Sean O'Sullivan says Sunday's clash with Monaghan in Clones may be the right "tonic" for Eamonn Fitzmaurice's team.

The Kingdom are facing the possibility of elimination from the All-Ireland championship this weekend and, writing in this week's issue of the Kerryman, O'Sullivan recognised that his county are facing a huge task.

"There aren't many tougher assignments than away to Monaghan in a win or bust game, but in a strange way it might be the tonic that this group of players need," the four-time All-Ireland winner wrote.

"It's the guys inside the group who know for sure what went wrong and more importantly how they are going to get it right for Sunday.

"That mind-set has to be a positive one this week as the lads prepare for Monaghan. The major difference, of course, is now it's a must-win game. Losing to Galway hasn't ended our dreams so getting another chance is obviously a bonus. This is our last chance, however, and we must rise to the occasion."
