Oram club notes

June 19, 2018

Oram Community are hosting an afternoon tea with a difference on Saturday 23 June!  Firstly, it is not on in the afternoon, rather it's an evening affair -from 7 pm to 9 pm and afterwards to be precise. Secondly, it is a vintage evening. The time is 1948. The 'emergency' is over. Rationing has eased, hats are at the ready, the hair is curled, the skirts are getting wider, the lipstick is red, very red… and the sandwiches are dainty!

We'd love if our guests would get into this theme and come adorned in vintage garb - a little bit of lace, maybe olde-world fascinators- just a nod of some sort to the era! Gentlemen, there might be a waistcoat, a watch fob, a bow tie or a hat that you could wear to hint at a vintage atmosphere? There will be sandwiches, scones and buns a-plenty. There will be a bit of soulful singing, all within a vintage-themed transformed centre that will cast us back to bygone days. This tea will be followed later by music for dancing.

Hosts are hosting and all are welcome! If you would like to come, and if you have not yet made arrangements with a host, please message  our Facebook page (Oram Vintage Tea) or, alternatively, give your name to Rooney's shop in Oram and you will be allocated a place at a table.

So, come dine and dance with us on  Saturday June 23. (€10 a head).
