Clontibret club notes

April 10, 2018

Platinum Tanks Reserve League;

We play Scotstown away on Saturday at 4pm (please note change of time), followed by a visit from Truagh on Wednesday April 18th at 7.30pm.

Senior League

Clontibret 2-12, Monaghan Harps 0-10. A good all round performance reinforced by early goals from Conor McManus and MP O'Dowd gained us the points in Gavan Duffy Park on Sunday. No senior action this weekend but Sunday week we have Latton as visitors to O'Neill Park.

Minor League

The minors, short a few players, lost in Doohamlet last week by 5 points. Next up is at home to an Eire Og combination on 24th April.

Pitches Closed

Due to the poor weather conditions during the week we were forced to close all our pitches for both games and training. This obviously caused inconvenience to all but many thanks to those who honoured the directive to the full and stayed off the pitches. Recovery will not be immediate but with the cooperation of all our units we will work our way through it without causing further pitch damage. We are also grateful to a number of clubs including Emyvale and Magheracloone who agreed to reverse fixtures to facilitate us.

Hurling

The first game in the SHL was postponed last week due to the unavailability of a playable pitch. This week's game with Inniskeen will be played on Thursday with an away game in Carrick the following week

.

Scor

Good luck to our senior quiz team who represent our club and Monaghan in the All-Ireland Final of Scór Sinsear this Saturday in Sligo. The team comprises of Aidan Deighan, Mary Fitzpatrick, Paula Greenan and Pat Walsh.

U6

Training begins this Friday the 13th from 5.45pm - 6.45pm. All boys born in 2012 & 2013 welcome.

U7

U7 training continues on Monday at 6.30pm. Blitz in Clontibret on Saturday the 21st April.

U9

U9 Blitz was called off at the weekend due to the poor weather. The boys had a very good challenge against our neighbours Tyholland last Wednesday. Thanks for Tyholland for hosting the games. Next outing is Saturday the 21st April in Clontibret. Training continues Saturday mornings at 10am.

U11

Our two teams are out this weekend with both games at home against Emyvale and Truagh.

U13

Our two teams were out last Saturday against Maghercloone and Emyvale. After due consideration we changed the venue due to our pitches being unplayable. Thanks to all parents who made the journey to both games after short notice. The Div 2 team had a tough game against a strong Maghercloone outfit. The players did themselves proud and kept going and were able to produce a good second half performance. The Div 6 team were unlucky in defeat against Emyvale losing out by a goal.

U15

Last Thursday our game with Castleblayney was cancelled due to the bad weather. We have an away game this Thursday away to Scotstown at 6.30pm.
