Annual Dinner Dance: The Annual Dinner Dance was held on Friday night last in the Social Centre. Guests of honour included the 1978 Intermediate Championship Winning Team, the players of the year and Hall of Fame Recipients.  The players of the year were introduced as follows:

Senior: Colin Clerkin

 

Our Hall of Fame Recipients were inducted into Club hall of fame and they were Peadar Donaghy & Seamus Geoghegan who were stalwarts of our Intermediate Teams success of the 1970's and former administrators of our club.  A greats night was had by all.

 

Juvenile Presentation: Our Annual Juvenile presentation was held on Monday evening last.  Drew Wylie county player made the presentations to the players on behalf of the Committee we would like to thank Drew for attending and wish Drew and the County team all the best for the rest of the year. We would like to thank all the parents who assisted in the preparation of food for all the players and anyone else who attended.  The following players were presented with awards

Seniors:  The Seniors first game is an away game against Currin on Saturday 31st March

 

Reserves:  The Reserves played their second game in the league last Saturday where they had a 2 point victory over Cremartin on a scoreline of 0-10 to 0-08. This was a tough game against a gallant Cremartin side.  Aughnamullen raced into an early 4 point league with scores by Damien Duffy (2), Stephen Geoghegan, Dean Johnston and Patrick Sheridan but Cremartin came back into it with to leave the half time score 0-5 to 0-2.  Cremartin scored 3 early points but more scores from Damien Duffy, Lee Conlan, and Packie Marron left us winners on a score line of 0-10 to 0-8. Minors: The Minors played their first game last Monday against Scotstown however they were beaten by a more determined Scotstown side on the day by 3-10 to 4-05.  Scotstown ran into a 2 goal lead but Aughnamullen scored 2 goals from Darren Geoghegan & Joel Wilson to leave it 2-03 to 2-01 in favour of us at half time.  In the second half Scotstown scored a couple of early points to reduced it to 1 but a goal from Adam Blanche left us 4 points but Scotstown came back into it with a number of fine scores but a goal from Aaron Mc Gee left us level but a goal from Scotstown gave them the lead they never relinquished and they ran out winners.  Next game is on Tuesday 3rd April at home to St Pats

Annual Poker Classic: The clubs Annual Texas Holdem Poker Classic will be held on Saturday 14th April in the Social Centre starting at 8pm. There is an early bird chip if you register by 7pm. Admission is €50.

 

Membership: Membership is now due.  The rates this year are Adult Non Player €30, Couple €55, Juvenile €15 (capped at €50 if more than 3 children in the family), Adult Footballer €100.  In relation to player membership any player who is not a paid up member is not covered by the GAA Injury fund or any other medical expenses

 

Ladies Presentation: Aughnamullen Ladies hold their Juvenile Presentation this Friday evening from 7pm. Presentations will be made to the successful Under 12 & Under 16 teams. Please support thank you

 

Monaghan GAA Club Allstars: The rearranged Monaghan GAA club allstars takes place this Friday night the 23rd of March at 7 30pm in the Four Seasons Hotel Monaghan.  Included in the Intermediate team is Colin Clerkin & Michael Bannigan.
