Senior Football League Final:

Ballybay 2-14 Scotstown 1-09

Ballybay retained the Ward Cup after a good first half display and kept their composure to see out the victory. Scotstown were struggling to deal with the effectiveness of the Ballybay attack during the first half hour of the game and were always going to struggle to catch up when the Pearse Brothers went in at half time ahead in the game at 2-08 to 0-03. Hugh Malone and Thomas O' Neill scored those very important goals within ten minutes of one another in the middle of the first half. Ballybay kept their composure, scored a few important points and saw off any comeback from Scotstown in the second half. A wonderful league cup win after a hard fought campaign for the club.

The club would like to extend their sympathy to the family and friends of former players Fr. John Leahy and Frank Markey following the loss of their loved ones last week. May they rest in peace.
