FIXTURES.
There are just 3 games down for decision this weekend, the final game in the senior football league and the finals of both the intermediate and Junior football leagues, all three on Sunday and all three timed for 2.00 PM starts.
SFL.
In the senior football league Scotstown have home advantage against Latton in a game that will decide the semi final pairings as both go into the contest with one point separating them, Latton topping the league with 25 points from their 17 games so far and Scotstown one point behind them in 2nd place and 3 ahead of Ballybay who finished in 3rd place with Clontibret a point behind them. Victory or even a draw for Latton would see Latton finishing top of the table and taking on Clontibret in the semi-final with Scotstown then meeting Ballybay. Scotstown for their part need outright victory to finish in top spot so it really is all to play for. The semi finals of the senior football league are scheduled for Sunday, November 19th at venues yet to be confirmed and depending on the relative pairings.
INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL LEAGUE FINAL.
Carrickmacross Emmets v Inniskeen Grattans: Corduff: Sunday November 12th @ 2.00pm.
It really is a very local affair as next door neighbours Carrickmacross Emmets take on Inniskeen Grattan's in the intermediate football league final with Carrickmacross attempting to complete the intermediate double of league and championship, while Inniskeen will be seeking to finish their season with some silverware to show for their efforts. However should Carrickmacross complete the double of league and championship Inniskeen as the team with the highest number of points then wins promotion to senior ranks for next season, so even in defeat Inniskeen can still be promoted as per Regulation 8B.
EUROTECH JUNIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE FINAL.
Currin Sons of St. Patrick v Sean McDermotts: St Oliver Plunkett Park, Emyvale: Sunday November 12th @ 2.00pm.
The cream has certainly come to the top in the Eurotech Junior football league with the same 2 teams contesting the league final as contested the final of the Universal Graphics sponsored Junior football championship and a feisty encounter expected. Currin were impressive in their semi final win over Clones and as champions will go into this game as slight favourites at least but Sean McDermotts are in a win/win situation because even if they are defeated they will still be promoted as the team that finished the league with the highest number of points.
