William (Billy) Egleston
Navan: Had his first experience of football with the Navan Pioneers in 1924.
Later he was with the Gaels. Secretary of Co. Meath Schools Board before
election to his present office (Secretary, Co. Board) in 1946.
Joe Loughran, Kilmessan: Began with Killeen in 1924 also with Donaghmore (Ashbourne).
Afterwards played with Navan Gaels and Kilmessan and was on the Meath County
team (Senior) from 1929 to 1941.
Paul Russell Oldcastle: Was on the Kerry team in the All-Ireland Final in
1924 and in five subsequent All-Ireland finals. Holder of ten Munster Championships
and four Railway Cup Medals.
Matty Gilsenan Moynalty: Played as Minor in 1933, joined the Senior team in
1935 and was in all important matches for eleven years. Captained the winners
of the 1939 Leinster Championship and Railway Cup, 1940. Holder of three Railway
Cup Medals.
Ted Meade, Castletown: Began with St. Finians (Mullingar) in 1921, was
with Castletown from 1926 and from 1927 to 1940 on the Meath County team (Senior).
Jack Fitzgerald, Kilcloon: Played first with Kilcloon and Donaghmore (Ashbourne).
Hurled with Dunboyne and was on the Kilmessan team that won five Senior Hurling
Championships and seven Feis Cups in succession. Represents Meath on Central
Council, and for periods was Chairman of the County Board, Hurling Board and
Leinster Council.
