Meath - Meath SHC 2017

NaFianna for Intermediate - O'Mahonys were no great shakes in semi final where there was a bit more in NaFianna. Just because they have that little bit more

Kildalkey v Kiltale - Senior - Kildalkey will give them a game they will bring them into the row and Kiltale players wont like that. The ref will have a part to play but Kiltale will win I wont say to comfortable

i dont know if kildalkey have the players to bring huge aggresion, i think kiltale will deal with it easily enough. kildalkey tried that in 2015 and it didnt work, bear in mind kildalkeys main players are late 30s and kiltales are early 20s. kiltale are a battled hardned outfit they will only relish a dog fight. the ryans were 18 two years ago and jack regan was 20, these lads are only filling out now, its a bit scary

No kildalkey won't get there own way again like in the semi when they got an outside ref to referee the game!!
Kiltale by 10 or more points

how would kildalkey have got their own way by having an outside ref? do you think dunboyne would have won with a meath ref? i thought the ref let the game flow very well. dunboyne were very poor one of the worst dunboyne sides i have seen in a long time. the fact kildalkey struggled badly to get over them is very worrying to be honest

Very little interest in this one outside the competing clubs. Kiltale have to be commended on how they have approached this championship, minimum of fuss. They have eyes on Leinster.

I would say the attendance will be poor enough, probably €15 in to see a coronation. The co. board should announce €10 entrance fee and under 18s and students free of charge to boost the attendance from neutrals.

While Kiltale are the outstanding team currently in Meath it's not a fair comment or maybe lack of Knowledge on Kildalkey hurling to say it will be a "Kiltale Coronation". Kildalkey have only being knocked out of Championship by Kiltale in each of last three years and are tough, skilful and proud club who don't roll over easily, they too have being waiting in the long grass for this final since they qualified from group stage. I expect a great contest with two fine teams going full pelt at each other but Kiltale to shade it marginally.

i dont see a Kiltale walkaway victory albeit i think they will win the game, couple of things for me are will Kildalkey target cetain players to mark attacking wise or will they line out and whoever comes into position is the one to mark, on the kildalkey attacking front will coneely play, is ducksie doran an option off the bench, will enda keogh play, if so where will he play, the midfield parings, will kiltale go with forde and J kelly or forde and P Kelly either 2 are very good and are the launch pad for most kiltale attacks, how will kildalkey set up in midfield, J Kelly at 10/12 is for me his most influential position, donoghue at 6 cant be left alone asuming kildalkey play a sweeper, how will kildalkey manage this, dont think kildalkey can get enough scores wirth 5 forwards to win the game. i think it will be a close game with kiltale finishing the stronger team and winning by 4. The only reservatiuon i would have to my prediction is kiltale are already focusing on winning leinster where as i think kildalkey couldnt care about leinster right now and are totally focussed on the Jubliee.

I think the key point you made there is that Kildalkey need to play at least one sweeper. In doing so they will take from their forwards. Leaving 4/5 up front against 6 Kiltale backs. Even at that Kiltale have the firepower in their front 6 to rack up a score against 7 or 8 defenders.

I can see Kildalkey starting with sweepers. Kiltale will go a few points in front. Maybe 5 or 6 points up with 15min to go. Kildalkey will then have to push men back up to try win the game leaving their backs 1v1. Kiltale will then pull away with a strong bench to call on.

Kiltale bench not as strong as it use to be. Looking at it in the semi-final it has 3 at the most only to pull from.

looking forward to the inter final
should be real close battle
navan for me to edge it , na fianna think they are better than they are and lack something

i wonder how the saturday finals will contribute to the turnout
plus the fact that most think kiltale only need to show up which is not true at all

kiltale only have 3 on the bench ? kildalkey im sure would love to have kiltale bench as would any other team in meath
i think the final will be closer than most think

hard to see past kiltale, they dont use their bench as their starting 15 is so strong they dont need to.

kildalkey will hopefully make a game of it. they are not playing to their best and have injuries but i expect johnny greville to have them set up well.

i predict a 6-9 point win for kiltale after a close first half.

Two great games for hurling yesterday. IHC was fair result, look forward to next Saturday. SHC hurling, what a game. Heart goes out to Kildalkey, I said before game they are a tough bunch and my god they delivered. Ref cost them the game, Doran is their leader and was the harshest of double yellow you could get in a county final from such a clean player. Kiltale showed champ grit but it was Kildalkey who performed, delivered but went home empty handed.

Agree -a very poor decision, its unfortunate some officials like to be the centre of attention.

Congrats to Kiltale. Honestly didn't think it was going to be that close.
Kiltale play The Harps of Laois in the Leinster Intermediate Quarter Final in November. I'd hope that this would be the year they finally make the breakthrough in Leinster. They've been narrowly beaten by the Kilkenny intermediate champions in each of the last three years. If they were to win Leinster, they'd have a great chance at the All Ireland.

Great days hurling on Saturday IHC was a fair result and should be a interesting replay. Thought the Senior was heading the same way. Kildalkey were the better team. They were hungry and I don't think Martin Doran sending off was the difference as Kildalkey scored 2 points after that it was the belief maybe that Kiltale had it would come the win. Kiltale were second to balls they were flat I'd say winning 3 in a row takes that hunger of you. It is a great achievement winning 4 in a row. Not so sure there performance in Lenister they need to do a lot more. It was amazing looking at the forwards in Kiltale they were bottled up by Kildalkey a great back performance by Kildalkey. J Greville did his homework very well. Kiltale were not as focused. Hope they can push on from this game

anybody think ref in first game played alot of injury time ? playing for a draw?

senior final was tight as i expected
doran should have gone in the first half for taking helmet off regan so to say it was harsh sending off is strange
not sure how kiltale done it , sign of a good team they say
kildalkey played to the limit and got everything right and still couldnt beat kiltale who were far from there best

Kiltale showed sign of champions by staying in the game and taking their chances. I wonder why Kildalkey didn't bring on Ducksy Doran near in?? He would have being some impact!! As for Regan with his helmet ripped off i believe Dorans helmet was ripped off too from what I saw, I don't think it blew off in the wind!

hes injured i believe , big loss

doran pulled of his own helmet after taking regans off
worked aswell as umpires must have missed it and booked them both
surprised a man of his experience risking it like that in such a big game
