Club Websites

(Oldest Posts First)

Posted this on the main page......... meant to post it here. Perhaps admin could delete from Main page please.

Not sure if this was covered before but I would like to know what do people think of their own clubs websites.

Are you happy with them ? Could they be improved ? How do they operate ? One or more admins ? If more, does it cause conflict ? Any success in advertising ? Is there interaction with social media ?

I know I could ask these questions on the national page but I'd like to get a feel within my own county before I ask further afield.

Some clubs have very nice sites and other less so.
A lot of clubs seem to use social media such as Facebook & Twitter as their main online presence.

From looking at my local clubs website, and having looked at others trying to get contact details for other coaches etc, the standard of information available is fairly poor across the board I would have said. With some of the bigger clubs they seem to update for the more senior teams, but juvenile and female teams are rarely if ever updated. Now dont get me wrong this is not done is many other counties also, its not just a problem within Meath, and I totally understand that operating as an admin on a website can be quite time consuming, but If you have a website there, it should be updated correctly at least twice a week, and the very least clubs can do is update the relevant contact details etc on their websites.

Yes. I would follow club's social media rather than go to a website these days. Most websites look way out of date and are clunky. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook etc is more instant

Thanks mate. Think I may have a family member playing for them and wanted to check! Also it's the home club of the coach of my team, Sands MacSwineys here in Scotland.
