Will we be without Reilly and the probable additional players from cilles?

From what I'm hearing there will be no under 21s invloved in the O'Byrne Cup or National League until the under 21s are out of Championship, a huge emphasis is being put on it for a change

Hoping that the Cilles win Leinster and taking that as meaning their players wouldn't be available here's a XV I wouldn't mind seeing in January for a game with experimintation a feature. jackhackett (Meath) - Posts: 773 - 15/11/2016 15:10:11 1934394 Link 0 |
I'd love if that was the case. Go all out to do as well as we can in the 21's.

From what I hear, u 21s already doing a lot of training and s&c work, also have a 3 day camp planned between Christmas and New Year, Robbie Burlingham has been in with Seniors but Padraig McKeever does not want to, there is a huge level of commitment expected from both u21 and senior squads with the under 21s finally to be used properly as the bridge between underage and senior intercounty football, finally a sense of purpose and drive that has long since been missing from Meath football Northmeathabu (Meath) - Posts: 8 - 15/11/2016 17:59:53 1934454 Link 0 |
Can't see Conlon in with a chance just yet as I believe that one of the pre conditions set down by the county board to McEntee is that u21s left to themselves till they done

It was the county boards decision? Doubt that.

pity as probably one of the most exciting cormer forwards this year . He has serious speed off the mark and can take hits and above all can score on either side. Barry Dardis is also a big talent and should be given a chance. Thomas Reilly FROM Wolfe Tones another scoring prospect along with Fiachra Ward. Anthony Neary could also be considered ad a teak tough defender for Byrne cup

Wouldn't mind seeing that first team take to the field jack. Will Andy get Lenny to perform? I got the impression that he was afraid to express himself last year...a player like him should be given free reign in the corner bert09 (Meath) - Posts: 1788 - 15/11/2016 19:55:14 1934504 Link 1 |
Was not the co boards call, agreed by McEntee and Callaghan, suits both, with 21s always having best available team and seniors able to look at more players, 21s are on same programmes and same commitment is expected Northmeathabu (Meath) - Posts: 8 - 15/11/2016 20:53:20 1934518 Link 0 |
It's hard to know but from all the games I've seen at club level this year he's been the most impressive forward in terms of scoring, with the possible exception of McKeever who was in blistering form late on in the championship. Give him the responsibility of the frees, tell him he's the main man for you and maybe he'll bring the club form to the bigger stage. jackhackett (Meath) - Posts: 773 - 15/11/2016 21:54:23 1934531 Link 0 |
I would have thought it was the calls of the managers alright.

In general Lenihan's best games are when he is deeper. He tends to get lost when played inside. He needs to be able to get on the ball.

Be interesting to see if Mcentee can get him firing. To mods credit he gave him plenty of opportunities bert09 (Meath) - Posts: 1788 - 16/11/2016 18:55:33 1934789 Link 1 |
