There was a confirmation from board official a couple of weeks ago that if the top of the table was a 3 way tie it would go to a play off format Khristianharris (Meath) - Posts: 1 - 07/11/2016 23:41:57 1932581 Link 0 |

Funny, even though we had more success in hurling this year than football.

Why do people keep saying that, no you's did not, The footballers won the O byrne cup and the hurlers won the Christy ring, that's 1 cup each SS6 (Meath) - Posts: 149 - 10/11/2016 08:17:52 1933201 Link 0 |
Rubbish, Hurlers had a much better year. Hopefully footballers will have a better year next year but let's call a spade a spade. oldsam_newsam (Meath) - Posts: 638 - 10/11/2016 09:44:02 1933218 Link 0 |
As a traditional football county winning the O'Byrne cup would not been seen as a successful. Where as the hurlers who have traditionally been seen as secondary to the footballers and is played by a far smaller percentage of the GAA people in Meath defiantly had a more successful year. Players like Jody Devine and Tommy Dowd were both excellent hurlers and would have got on any county team at the time but as football was the dominant sport at the time both opted for football, fair play to Mickey Burke he is playing for both. Meath hurling is on the up and it is the responsibility of every true GAA supporter in county Meath to acknowledge this. Its good for the county. If Meath were to be playing Kilkenny in a Lenister Hurling final next year I can guarantee there would be a massive interest throughout the county for tickets. Must admit I am impressed with the Christy Ring Cup, got to hold it recently, its a fine trophy and is probably bigger than Liam McCarthy. anto_meath (Meath) - Posts: 108 - 10/11/2016 10:11:32 1933232 Link 0 |
