There will be some interest, but surely it has to be Andy McEntee, whatever it takes to convince Andy to take the job should be done. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 09/07/2016 19:58:40 1879302 Link 4 |

I know every1 wants McEntee and so do I but why in the world would he want that job now.. he is manager of the all ireland club champions coaching great player, getting massive support from his club and the Dublin county board. Basicly a dream job. Irish_downunder (Meath) - Posts: 626 - 09/07/2016 21:14:51 1879451 Link 0 |
Well McEntee may feel he can get Meath football back on track. That is more important than what he thinks of the county board..

I didn't give a tumbs down here and I would like to see McEntee get the job but I'm not convinced he would even want it. He does have a good job, managing the All-Ireland club champions and you'd wonder does he even want the hassle of managing a Meath team in complete disarray or working under such a poor county board. Before we get a new manager we need a new county board. bert09 (Meath) - Posts: 1788 - 09/07/2016 21:34:06 1879486 Link 1 |
Possibly,but how can that happen?

Ahh I dont mind the thumbs down thing, never gave one myself, I prefer to hit the reply button and explain why I disagree, royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 09/07/2016 21:49:13 1879517 Link 1 |
Well said royaldunne! I was told this 2 years ago as well. Sport is sport, politics are politics. And until people start looking at the bigger picture decisions of such will happen forever. As I stated on another thread, some people will be disappointed if Andy McEntee doesn't become the next manager, if offered it and/or rejects such. Not sure if MC entee will work with this group as is , I do feel he is our only option within the county , realistically I think we might need to look outside county (dare I say ?) royalpainter (Meath) - Posts: 874 - 09/07/2016 21:53:28 1879530 Link 0 |
Playing devil's advocate a little here.. ziggy32001 (Meath) - Posts: 8354 - 09/07/2016 21:56:35 1879539 Link 0 |
Honestly within Meath I don't know..but if there was a outside manger young Tony Mcentee from Armagh..plays a style of football that is not Alien to Meath football! But still think we need Sean Boylan and Pat Gilroy to put in place some kind of structure for the next manger to work with.. because if you look at the two men they know how to build something and achieve something not just at football level ,big ask from Sean I know ! Graham Geraghty, would obviously be one, but I think with the state the team is in it would need someone else, gg great motiver and all that he is, I just feel with the way those 26 odd lads heads are they'd rather never put on a Meath shirt again, it will take kid gloves, lots of confidence building, arms around the shoulders and I feel that Andy having worked with so many of them is best positioned to that, graham would be a excellent manager but not with the psychological scars these lads have at the moment.

Yes your personal political views, should be kept out of sport, and never be a hindrance to getting a post or remaining in it , I also think most people would be of the same opinion why Andy was dropped from minors as us, and that is a sad reflection of cb, who should and must be above politics. I couldn't care who Andy votes for, if Bertie aherne or ends kenny could manage us properly id take either of them . Politics is politics, sport is sport, like oil and water they shouldn't be mixed royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 09/07/2016 22:20:39 1879587 Link 0 |
I would hope for the same royaldunne, I hope Andy is interested in the Meath job, given his recent success he probably is the most qualified Meathman for the job.

I don't know but somebody needs to make it happen. No way Andy is taking the job with that bunch of cowboys at the helm

Are yis right in the head Andy mc will take some convincing to come back after the way he was shafted at minor. And u21 level once the present head hunchos are in control Andy won't take in on... Why should he he was messed around before Brownepat (Meath) - Posts: 532 - 09/07/2016 22:38:53 1879625 Link 0 |
