Club an MÍ running a bus for big ball not small

Once again we see the antics of Meath GAA organisations. Where is the supporters bus for christy ring final. Instead they run a bus for a game against Louth in the football. A joke

Was the demand big enough to be fair?

It's a shame they won't sort a bus. Possibly only senior team that will play in croker this year

I guess we'll never find out, the die hard Meath GAA fans would rather sit at home and reminisce about the glory days of the last century when Meath were a footballing superpower than go and support their county in a massive game like this. It's the total apathy that gets me, three days out from the match and there isn't a single flag or poster to be seen anywhere, barely a mention anywhere

There is limited parking around Parnell Park so buses make sense. The same is not true around Croke Park.

There is a bus leaving the O Mahonys car park on Saturday at 2.30 pm. The fare is 10 euro. Contact Jack Kiernan.

Did they even bother to find out if there was demand?

Do you think they're going bananas in Mayo because they are in the Nicky Rackard Final in Croke Park on Saturday? Best of luck to the lads on Saturday and I really hope they win it - would be a great achievement - but expecting a traditionally 'football' county to all of a sudden get behind our hurlers with the same passion as Cork and Waterford supporters - over a second tier competition - is a little premature.

I know a lot of the hurling clubs have coaches organised to bring supporters up, all hurling people in Meath will be there regardless.. I'd agree that there's very little being done around the towns to drum up a bit of extra support.

In fairness its not the premier competition for hurling, if they were in McCarthy competition final , or even just in Leinster proper then I am sure the whole county would get behind them. Where was all the support for rathoath or curraha? . I'm not having a go, but hurling is still very much a minority sport within county, and fair play to the management and players they have done well with a small group, that been said there would be no point in running a bus if very few were on it, dont take it so personal, it just doesn't make economic sense, whereas with the football it does.

Meath Supporters bus going from Navan at 2.30pm €10 on Saturday - and hurling clubs are sending there support to Meath Hurling Management and Team. I meet one of the hurlers and they said they are getting great support. So can we go at this again POSITIVE POSITIVE. Hopefully it will be a great day for hurling in the county. LMFM & Hoganstand are promoting so all roads this weekend lead to Croke Park.

In fairness I didn't realise Meath fans could be so fickle, what you're basically saying is 'we'll only get behind our team and support them when they're playing in top top tier competitions' until then they're on their own...!
Classic bandwagon supporters, luckily there's no two tier competition for the football or we'd all be stuck at home watching the telly...

Well that settles that, thanks Ollie.
Had anyone even checked this out before having a go about not organising a bus. ?
Anyway best of luck to the hurlers I really hope they win. It should not be drawn into a hurling v football thing. It should be get behind county, be it football, hurling, camoige ladies football, minor u21. I donlt like hurling that much and as a post on main forum will tell you I not that gone on listening to Irish language either, but ill be tuned in hoping for a royal victory

but all these wonderful hurling supporters didn't even know that a bus was going to the game and it took a loud(louth) man to to tell them were they could get on one !

Yeah that's what I was getting at, also even if it was in top tier I wouldn't go, as I might be taking a ticket off someone who really supports hurling, I will watch it and shout for the county in my home.
Also Ollie is one of the soundest lads you could meet, and extremely knowledgeable about all things GAA, as he proved on this
