Can anybody tell me why our hurlers are away in the Ring semi final ? duelplayer1 (Meath) - Posts: 97 - 11/05/2016 17:15:02 1854137 Link 0 |
It's a funny one alright, Kildare had a home semi final vs. Kerry last year too despite Kerry winning their first 2 matches. CastleBravo (Meath) - Posts: 1639 - 11/05/2016 17:36:52 1854143 Link 1 |
Funnily enough it doesn't say anything about venues for the semi final in the rule book. I don't think it's some sort of conspiracy against Meath, just luck of the draw unfortunately. As mentioned above, Kildare got lucky last year too (not that it did them much good!). hurlingroyals (Meath) - Posts: 45 - 11/05/2016 21:05:33 1854214 Link 0 |
Rumor has it meath county board never went to fixture meeting in which meath had home advantage but since they didn't send anyone they lost home advantage JoeJoej (Meath) - Posts: 73 - 12/05/2016 10:50:14 1854280 Link 0 |

I heard from a county panelist it was just an open draw, no conspiracies. CastleBravo (Meath) - Posts: 1639 - 12/05/2016 11:56:07 1854326 Link 1 |

lets not be silly here talking about no representative at fixtures meeting and that is why Meath lost home advantage, dont think the GAA operate like that, lets all get to Newbridge and help them get to Croker StickFan (Meath) - Posts: 217 - 12/05/2016 13:54:54 1854392 Link 0 |
Well said stick fan just an unlucky draw. Kildare always bring a crowd to trim so hopefully we will do the same to Newbridge. billyjack24 (Meath) - Posts: 40 - 12/05/2016 20:57:18 1854519 Link 0 |
All winners to semi which were meath and antrim had home advantage as any of the semi since it began. If I'm wrong let me know. Meath county board had no one at fixture meeting in croke park JoeJoej (Meath) - Posts: 73 - 12/05/2016 21:53:52 1854542 Link 0 |
joejoe your mistaken there kerry didnt have a home semi final last year its poor luck of the draw doesnt matter about representatives and meath surely did have one at it srgt_slaughter (Meath) - Posts: 462 - 13/05/2016 08:06:02 1854546 Link 0 |
Really looking forward to the match Sunday week duelplayer1 (Meath) - Posts: 97 - 13/05/2016 08:06:55 1854547 Link 0 |
Awful pity the game isnt in Trim. Far superior surface to Newbridge and good big changing rooms, Trim would also suit kildare folk coming from the likes of maynooth celbridge lexilip 11jm11 (Kildare) - Posts: 364 - 13/05/2016 09:59:11 1854570 Link 0 |
Newbridge only an hour from Trim, easy journey for all Meath hurling supporters, lets get behind the boys duelplayer1 (Meath) - Posts: 97 - 13/05/2016 12:00:32 1854618 Link 0 |
Well lads, how do ye see this going? Think we will do it, but if Nicky horan is on form from the frees we could be in trouble. Where is the best spot to park in Navan? Yarnsy (Kildare) - Posts: 177 - 14/05/2016 13:54:25 1854869 Link 0 |

in a way i think newbridge will suit meath better than playing kildare in trim. dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 677 - 16/05/2016 21:19:31 1855482 Link 0 |
I really do think that the hurlers this year have upped a gear, tight game, but i think we'll win by a couple of points after extra time. loyal82royal (Meath) - Posts: 260 - 17/05/2016 08:43:52 1855497 Link 0 |
I think so too dickie.. As far as I know Kildare wanted the game in Trim, had two convincing wins against us there last year. Strange it was brought to Newbridge. begining (UK) - Posts: 298 - 17/05/2016 08:49:53 1855498 Link 0 |
Nicky Horan hasn't played for Meath In years. lordofthecrack (Meath) - Posts: 43 - 17/05/2016 14:45:12 1855669 Link 0 |
