A league - final rounds

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

With the A leagues coming up to the last few rounds who is everyone expecting to be promoted and/or relegated in all divisions?

Dunshaughlin look like they are almost sure of a place in the div 1 final with Dunboyne and Ashobourne fighting for the other place. They play on friday and I tip whoever comes out on top there to make the final. Relegation is hard to call but i think Ballinlough will struggle to stay up with a few tough fixtures coming up and I reckon Seneschalstown could be in some trouble too.

Still hard to call Div 2, big game between Gaeil Colmcille vs Nobber tonight which could insure GC's promotion or give nobber a big chance of making the cut. Reckon GC and Walterstown will maintain their promotion positions. Cortown look dead and buried and set to return to div 3 while Oldcastle and moynalvey will fight to survive with the 2 still to play each other. trim still in danger but I expect them to stay up.

div 3 looks interesting at the top. The Bracks are already promoted with 5 teams in with a chance of of making the final. I think the teams with the best chance are carnaross dunderry and meath hill. Carnaross and dunderry both play a team in relegation zone and will be expected to win although Kilmainham could put up a big fight. Likewise the hill play longwood tomorrow night with longwood needing a win to escape relegation. the hill also play the bracks on sunday which could be a huge ask for them. tip carnaross to go through unless the hill up their game for the bracks game
Marys are relegated with longwood and kilmainham fighting to survive, tip longwood to go down.

Div 4 looks straightforward. Curraha promoted with dunsany needing 1 point to insure promotion. these two will make up the div 4 final. What has happened to moylagh though? bottom of the league and seem to be going downhill very fast. Impressed with how Slane are improving but surprised that Clonard weren't in the hunt for promotion. Ballivor need a big season next year to get back up to a higher level of football. Moynalty seem to be making steady progress also.

What does everyone else think about the league standings and how do we all think it will finish up?

Div 3 Dunderry to beat Mary's easy and get to final ahead of carnaross. Meath hill the big danger they will handle Longwood who will go down and hill can take bracks if they don't go full belt for the win. Bracks probably will so dunderry to benefit

have been looking at the division 3 table and as st marys gave a walkover earlier in the year .does anyone know the rules regarding points difference . its possible that kilmainham and longwood could finish equal on points {the same applies to dunderry and carnaross} as they have both drawn.the head to head cant apply .does point difference then come into it .even though there was a walkover given in the league

Hope Meath hill beat the bracks at home on Sunday and go up to division 2,it would be a great achievement for them,a small rural club
Coming out of a division with intermediate teams, any time I went down to play in meath hill over the years ,you got a hard tough match on the field
and a cuppa tea and a friendly chat after the match.nice touch meath hill and a good club,I hope they make the final..

walk over means points difference goes out the window so it goes on head to head if both teams finish on same points,in the event of the head to head been a draw game (e.g longwood & kilmainham drew) i dont know what happens,i would presume a play off to see who is relegated.

Looking forward to the trip to Meath Hill on Sunday, the hill will be favorites for this one as a few of our boys away on holidays this friday for a week but a few of our young lads will get a chance to put down a marker.

I expect longwood to go down with st marys.

Longwood and Marys go down. The Bracks and the Hill in the final. The Hill beat the Bracks by 7 points today with both teams more or less fielding their strongest teams. The final on Saturday is going to be a very interesting game indeed..wasn't expecting Meath Hill to win so convincingly but they really do seem to have a great young hungry team these days. Best of luck to both teams in the final, should be a tight game!

Massive win for Blackhall yesterday in their bid to stay up. Going down to the wire for relegation in that one. Kells already promoted and either Colmcilles or Walterstown to join them which may be a surprise, many would have fancied the likes of Ratoath/Nobber/Rathkenny to be up there fighting for that spot. Massive result for Meath Hill to get upto div2, great to see one of the so called smaller clubs making it up.

Congrats to the Bracks last night winning the div 3 final against Meath Hill. Went to see the game and was a great performance from the Bracks, took some great scores and the county men really shone bright. Midfielders and Defenders for Meath Hill couldn't get going in the game with their forwards lacking direct ball. Bracks on the other hand were finding their full forwards early and missed very few chances. Best of luck to both teams in intermediate and junior this year, both teams will be pushing for the titles

Division 4 is not over yet.

Having played Dunsany recently and Clonard I reckon Clonard will win tonight in Dunsany. Which will leave 3 teams on 15 points. What happens then??? Score difference or Head to Head.

O mahonys giving dunboyne a walk over a week and a half before championship, doesn't make any sense and is a joke to be honest, simply because they couldn't be ar*ed travelling. Shouldn't be allowed in division 1.
