That time of year is now approaching - any predictions for the Jubilee Cup?

For me you cannot look past Kildalkey or Kiltale.

Group A - 3 teams to qualify Kiltale; kilmessen; Dunboyne

Group B - 3 teams to qualify Kildalkey; Killyon; O'Mahonys

O'mahonys to improve greatly on last year, decent manager seems to be a good set up now with a lot of players pulling their weight, get some of the footballers back in regularly such as Crosby and they'd be doing well, some great potential with younger lads mainly mckenna who should be in from the start or first forward sub on
Still can't see anyone beating kiltale , too much quality as it is and even more coming up from minor

Can't look past kiltale. I'd put kildalkey next and a quiet fancy kilmeasan. Can't see trim getting anywhere near they did to last year.

Kiltale will be red hot favourites, this year and every year for the next 5 years at least.
Kilmessan have Joey Keena back and Stephen Clynch to return. They are the only team in my opinion who could beat Kiltale in October.
Dunboyne will also qualify from the group of death unless Trim can return to 2014 form.
Longwood and Boardsmill will not go down without a fight and should cause upsets along the way.

Kildalkey or Killyon will be in a semi final come next Saturday night as the other group is very weak. Should be a cracking game and they will have title aspirations.
O'Mahony's should qualify from the weaker group also but Blackhall will push O'Mahony's all the way.
Dunderry v Rathmolyan in the first round. Whoever loses this will be relegated from Senior this year. Any one who thinks otherwise is mistaken!!!

First round predictions:
Dunboyne v Boardsmill Dunboyne by 6
Kiltale v Longwood Kiltale by 9
Kilmessan v Trim Kilmessan by 4

Dunderry v Rathmolyan Dunderry by 2
Kildalkey v Killyon Kildalkey by 2
O'Mahony's v Blackhall O'Mahony's by 3

First round:
Dunboyne v Boardsmill - The Mill men to keep this close - mill by 2
Kiltale v Longwood Kiltale
Kilmessan v Trim - Trim by the minimum after the reshuffle under new management.

Dunderry v Rathmolyan Dunderry should have too much youth and with the coles gone Rathmolyan to go down
Kildalkey v Killyon Killyon by 5
O'Mahony's v Blackhall if o'mahony's give away crazy frees which is their norm, myler will punish them, blackhall should see this out easy enough.

Boardsmill v Dunboyne- this should be an easy 8/9pt win for Dunboyne.
Trim v Kilmessan- Kilmessan are the form team and will show it here against a out of sorts Trim, Kilmessan by 8pts.
Longwood v Kiltale- Kiltale to grind out a win while not firing on all cyclinders, Kiltale by 4pts.
Dunderry v Rathmolyon- relegation final in round 1, two terrible teams who don't justify staying Senior, Dunderry could pull this off with a 1pt win.
Navan v Blackhall- Navan to win, physically stronger than Blackhall. Navan by 2pts.
Kildalkey v Killyon- looks like a tight game, plenty of timber will be used in this Derby, Kildalkey should have too much firepower tho while also having a watertight defence, Kildalkey by 3pts.

Well from what I've seen this year I think Kiltale, Kilmessan and Kildalkey seem to be the teams to beat with Dunboyne and Killyon also showing good form Trim and Longwood seem to be struggling to reach their good performances of the last few years.
In group A it will be kiltale and kilmessan and then it could be anyone just going for Dunboyne.
In group B Kildalkey and Killyon should make it without much trouble and going to go for Blackball to join them.
Dunboyne v Boardsmill. Dunboyne by 5
Kiltale v Longwood. Kiltale by 7
Kilmessan v Trim. Kilmessan by 3
Blackhall v Navan. Blackhall by 1
Kildalkey v Killyon. Kildalkey by 3
Rathmolyon v Dunderry. Rathmolyon by 6

First round:
Dunboyne v Boardsmill - Dunboyne playing well and should win - Dunboyne by 6
Kiltale v Longwood Kiltale are the team to beat and Longwood not playing well - Kiltale by 8
Kilmessan v Trim - If Trim play like last year they could win this but Kilmessan are tough to beat in champ. Kilmessan by 3

Dunderry v Rathmolyan Hard one to call but Rathmoylan to shade it - Rathmoylan by 3
Kildalkey v Killyon Game of the round. Killyon playing well but I feel Kildalkey could win it out this year - Kildalkey by 5
O'Mahony's v Blackhall Tough one to call. Blackhall are an up and coming team with some great hurlers. Blackhall by 3

Dunboyne v Boardsmill - Dunboyne easily
Kiltale v Longwood - Kiltale to win easily
Kilmessan v Trim - Trim should win a close game

Dunderry v Rathmolyan - Dunderry to win a tight game
Kildalkey v Killyon - I think Kildalkey will win with a bit to spare.
O'Mahony's v Blackhall - Tough game as both teams a bit unknown at moment, I will go for Blackhall but only just

Kiltale v Longwood - Kiltale Longwood will struggle this year
Kilmessan v Trim - Wouldn't be surprised if Trim won here but I still think Kilmessan will have too much firepower.

Dunderry v Rathmolyan - Dunderry will push them all the way but Rathmolyon will come through
Kildalkey v Killyon - Kildalkey here. Again too much firepower
O'Mahony's v Blackhall - Started slowly but Improved with every round of the league. Blackhall to come through a tight game

Kiltale v Longwood - Kiltale all the way
Kilmessan v Trim - Trim will massively miss Colm Doyle this year. Kilmessan too much fire power

Dunderry v Rathmolyan - Dunderry, the loss of Jack Fagan should be the difference between survival and relegation for Rathmolyan.
Kildalkey v Killyon - Kildalkey here. With the Keoghs, Conneely, Ducksy and Kelly should have too much for Killyon to handle
O'Mahony's v Blackhall - O'Mahonys will be favourites but astrong Blackhall showing should see them leave with two points for me.

Big results at both ends of SHC last night. Trim 4pt winners over Kilmessan. I expected Kilmessan to win here but well done Trim, they must produced a great team performance. Also Dunderry 2pt win over Rathmolyon already practically guarantee's them survival in first year Senior. Big Game this evening Killyon v Kildalkey, I wonder could we expect another surprise result???

Great win for Trim last night. In my opinion they wanted it more. Toher the difference between the two teams with super accuracy from frees and play. Heffernan was dangerous all night. Defence will have to tighten up in future games. Regarding Kilmessan, poor accuracy cost them dearly and could have won or at least drawn this game.

Trim players will know that this is not good enough to trouble na Fianna but this win and also the victory over Na Fianna in the league is a great boost.

What do Na Fianna have to do with Trim? I'm guessing you mean Boardsmill.

Last paragraph should read
Trim players will know that this is not good enough to trouble Kiltale but this win and also the victory over Na Fianna in the league is a great boost.

Attended the blackhall v omahonys and kildalkey vs killyon games on Sat. Must say Blackhall looked good and should have beaten O Mahonys by more. O Mahonys could really struggle this year. Kildalkey did just about enough against Killyon but neither team played to full potential and could have gone either way.
Anyone know when Round 2 of the SHC will be played?

Agree with you Meathhurler Navan will struggle they have decent backs but no real scoring threat. As for blackhall they should be aiming for a quarter final spot will be a good test for them against kildalky in two weeks.

Kildalkey Killyon game was poor standard but exciting. Kiltale or Trim won't be worried by what they seen Saturday.
Kildalkey play Blackhall in 2 weeks time. Blackhall will put it up to Kildalkey.
Navan haven't the forwards to trouble teams.
Massive win for Dunderry who now play Navan. Massive game for both teams. Dunderry must win to keep there quarter final aspirations alive.
Rathmolyan are now almost definitely in a relegation play off more than likely against Boardsmill.
Trim beating Kilmessan was a surprise given their league form. Kilmessan will be still there at the business end of the championship.
Kiltale v Longwood should be a formality for Kiltale Tomorrow.

Good win for Blackhall Gaels. They should now push on an claim 1/4 final spot. Navan are a club in big trouble at the moment. Very poor. Kildalkey v Kilkyon was a very exciting game but lacked quality hurling but it was played at a serious pace. Killyon better team but lacked the quality finishing that Kildalkey had. Killyon looked to have the game won in last few minutes but Kildalkey did well to come back and win. Both teams showed they'll take a bit of beating at business end later in the year.

Is it true kildalkey have objected to the semi final loss against kiltale in the Brendan Davis? Any idea as to why or what's going to happen with this competition/fixture now?.

Senior championship really taking shape now. Kiltale, kildalkey, trim and kilyon look set to come out of the group. Between Kilmessan and dunboyne for 3rd in group A and its anyones guess for the other group.
