NO club football to be played during that period as it will not be cold or wet enough frankthetank (Meath) - Posts: 134 - 06/05/2015 21:45:59 1721034 Link 0 |
the leagues will be run off over the june bank holiday weekend in a blitz format, to ensure most players will not be playing football in september srgt_slaughter (Meath) - Posts: 462 - 07/05/2015 08:19:36 1721045 Link 0 |
No matter what the fixtures committee do they will get abused it seems. Royal_Gunner (Meath) - Posts: 534 - 07/05/2015 10:38:54 1721090 Link 0 |

What do people thing about there been a virtually full A and B league football programme next week, mid week during a period when every 3rd level college in the country are holding exams. This shows a complete disregard for the players. Are clubs expected to call their players home from around the country mid week to play a match before returning to college to carry on with their exams or are will the remaining members of the squads have to play 2 or 3 games in a couple of days so clubs can field teams. delbert (Meath) - Posts: 10 - 07/05/2015 20:46:23 1721403 Link 0 |
So to recap this thread. GoalsWinGames (Meath) - Posts: 303 - 08/05/2015 10:25:52 1721465 Link 0 |
yes goalswingames but unfortunately the gaa facilities more than one game football hurling handball etc so there have to be compromises there as to be a proper structure in place for league not just run it off before the end of august and start in january...fair play to the co board for addressing the situation of leagues being played into november ..thats to be commended but starting league in january is crazy but championship should not be played once county teams are involved in championship both hurling and football srgt_slaughter (Meath) - Posts: 462 - 08/05/2015 10:49:56 1721476 Link 0 |
GoalsWinGames, my point is NOT that all game activity cancelled when there are exams on, its that its unfair to have mid week matches during exam time. The vast majority of students are home Friday evening to Sunday evening. delbert (Meath) - Posts: 10 - 08/05/2015 11:21:24 1721487 Link 0 |
Yes your right there should be no games drinking or sex during exam time which starts in mid April and runs till Leaving over around 20th June. There also should be no games on Sundays before 3pm or after 5pm or on Saturdays after 6pm. Also there should be no games when Farmers make Silage or During Hay making or when Spring Barley is been sown or cut. There should be no games when 2 or more off the team work evening or night shifts or there should never be a game when managers children are being christined or make Holy Communion or Confirmation. Games can only be played 2 days before a Wedding or a Stag(or Hen for that Matter) and not until at least 8 days after said event is over............................... noelpconnon (Cavan) - Posts: 209 - 09/05/2015 11:23:25 1721711 Link 0 |
Also there should be no games when the Students head to US for the Summer.............. noelpconnon (Cavan) - Posts: 209 - 09/05/2015 16:26:57 1721773 Link 0 |
Ur hardly on the county board with that view , amount of games in next 5 weeks is a joke then only playing every second week for the following 6 weeks could they not space them out more even , as much as I love the gaa there is life outside it and think the powers that be should realise that clubfootball (Meath) - Posts: 12 - 09/05/2015 20:20:04 1721853 Link 0 |
B league Monday, A league Wednesday, B league Saturday, minor semis on Monday, followed by championship that week. Surely the fixtures could have been better spaced out Keeks (Louth) - Posts: 146 - 10/05/2015 16:39:34 1722078 Link 0 |
The updated fixture planner is up on the Meath Gaa site now. Belt (Meath) - Posts: 253 - 11/05/2015 10:19:51 1722328 Link 0 |
So according to this fixture list they plan on having round 7 and 8 of the league within the whole June bank holiday weekend?? What a joke. BigJoe14 (Meath) - Posts: 934 - 11/05/2015 12:03:11 1722382 Link 0 |
If we could just give up on the hurling then making fixtures would be much easier. GoalsWinGames (Meath) - Posts: 303 - 11/05/2015 15:02:39 1722476 Link 0 |
no goals if we had an adequate ccc it would make things a lot easier not with what we have who pull fixtures out of thin air srgt_slaughter (Meath) - Posts: 462 - 11/05/2015 15:21:52 1722480 Link 0 |
Dead right give up on the hurling and it allows the football fixtures loads of space. Top 8 football team. Top 20 hurling team. Enough said Footballonly (Meath) - Posts: 128 - 11/05/2015 18:53:47 1722564 Link 0 |
