D/Bellewstown v St.Peters Dunboyne; Good game to start I think Duleek beat Dunboyne last year. It wont happen again Dunboyne to win

Navan O'Mahonys v Seneschalstown; Seneschalstown will huf and puff but will not blow the house down OMahonys away in a hack

Saturday 11 April

Wolfe Tones v Moynalvey; Interesting game Moynalvey did well in Feis Cup but lost badly to Drumbaragh in League a week later. Tones started badly but have beaten Don/Ash and drew with Simonstown, Moynalvey are a good Championship team but will come up short

Ballinlough v D/Ashbourne; Start of a long campaign for the Lough only 1 winner here

Sunday 12 April

hoganstand.com SFC
Summerhill v Rathkenny; Rathkenny rattled Summerhill a few years ago, They are a steady Senior team now 9th campaign in top grade. Summerhill should have too much

Skryne v St.Patricks; Pats battle away each year and stay middle of the road, Skryne are not that potent but should get a winning start

Walterstown v Simonstown Gaels; Walterstown will try hard but Simonstown should have that extra bit of class

Gaeil Colmcille v Dunshaughlin; Kells pipped them last year Dunshaughlin are well warned and will take notice to get the points

Duleek v Duboyne - Geraghty is doing a decent job with a lot of average players imo.Dunboyne have a forward or two and Jones developing well.Tough call to be honest,I think I will go for Dunboyne, but only just!

Navan O'Mahonys v Seneschalstown - I think NOM will win handy enough

Wolfe Tones v Moynalvey - I think the Tones will win this by a few.

Ballinlough v D/Ash - Ash to win without question and they could win comfortably

Summerhill v Rathkenny - hmm, interesting one,Summerhill can be slow starters, but if Keoghan is out,I can only see one winner in Summerhill

Skyrne v ST.Pats - not too sure about Skyrne,I think Pats will win

Walterstown v Simonstown - Simonstown have some useful players,I tip them to win this

Gael Colmcille v Dunshaughlin - I think the men from Kells will win this

S.F.C.
Duleek/Bellewstown v St. Peter's Dunboyne: D/B edged this last year. Both very even teams so a draw isn't off the cards but going by league form Dunboyne could shade it - ST. PETER'S DUNBOYNE

Navan O'Mahonys v Seneschalstown: This is the 5th year in a row these sides meet in the groups with NOM winning 3 and losing 1 in 2011. Seneschalstown have played 10 games in Navan since then and won only 3. Last year NOM won by 15 points in the same fixture and league form is considerably better - NAVAN O'MAHONYS

Wolfe Tones v Moynalvey: 1st ever SFC meeting of the sides. Tones started bad in the league but have come back since then. Moynalvey doing awful in Div 2 for a senior club although they were missing lots of lads. Tones are group specialists with this record since 2008 W26 D5 L3. They should keep it going here - WOLFE TONES

Ballinlough v Donaghmore/Ashbourne: IFC winners tend to have good first seasons in senior but Ballinlough won't get anything here - DONAGHMORE/ASHBOURNE

Summerhill v Rathkenny: This will be close, the 'Hill have been below standard in the league while Rathkenny are winning in Div 2. Rathkenny are a young team and if Keogan is fit a win isn't beyond them but Summerhill could come back strong - SUMMERHILL

Skryne v St. Patrick's: This could be the tie of the round. Two very even teams that will be eyeing each other as a must win in a tough group. They both have 4 points from 8 in the league but Skryne may shade it - SKRYNE

Walterstown v Simonstown Gaels: Simonstown big favourites here against a Walterstown side fancied for relegation - SIMONSTOWN GAELS

Gaeil Colmcille v Dunshaughlin: 2nd season syndrome could hit Kells this year. Dunshaughlin flying high in Div 1 though Kells are doing well in Div 2. Kells won this game last year but Dunshaughlin will do better this time - DUNSHAUGHLIN.

Duleek Bellewstown v Dunboyne - D/B well organised under Graham Geraghty and have the ability to upset anyone on their day but I think Dunboyne will win this as they have a good crop of young players and going well enough in the league.

Navan O Mahonys v Seneschalstown - O Mahonys to begin their Keegan Cup defence with a win. Seneschalstown would only love if they could put one over NOM as county champions like 2009, but I cant see it happening.

Wolfe Tones v Moynalvey - Moynalvey will need big performances from their county players to get something from this. Tones to win by about 5.

Ballinlough v Donaghmore/Ashbourne - Ashbourne to win but Ballinlough will not make it easy.

Summerhill v Rathkenny - A tight one to call, given the fact we dont know which Rathkenny will turn up. Summerhill by 4.

Skryne v St. Pats - The hardest game of the weekend to call but I think Skryne will get over the line, just.

Walterstown v Simonstown - A repeat of last years first round tie and I expect the same outcome, though Walterstown will want to make up for last years loss.

Gaeil Colmcille v Dunshaughlin - Dunshaughlin to win based on their league form. However I woudnt put it past the Kells men to repeat their heroics of 2014 against the same side

No prices available yet, anyone any bookies updates?

Duleek Bellewstown v Dunboyne - Dunboyne win

Navan O Mahonys v Seneschalstown - O Mahonys by a cricket score, Seneschalstown on a major downward slope

Wolfe Tones v Moynalvey - Tones to shade it

Ballinlough v Donaghmore/Ashbourne - Ashbourne handy win

Summerhill v Rathkenny - Summerhill handy win

Skryne v St. Pats - Toss of a coin, no bet

Walterstown v Simonstown - Walterstown majorly improved but Simonstown will have enough to spare

Gaeil Colmcille v Dunshaughlin - Another toss of a coin, no bet but Dunshaughlin should shade it

I have attended 2 games so far.. dire to be honest..some of the teams competing at senior level, are mere glorified junior outfits.

Tadhg o Dúshláine put in a masterclass today. Great Victory for Dunshaughlin. Surely Mick O'Dowd will call him up. Massively underrated player for years.

How did our county players do in the championship matches ? Any other potential additions to the panel based on the first round club championship performances ?

Was at Dunboyne game on Friday night in Ashbourne - it was bitter. Lenihan was central to everything but D/B were completely out of their depth. Missing a couple of key men didn't help them of course, but they were well beaten.

Worrying thing was the amount of time it took an ambulance to come to attend to D/B player who got injured just before half-time. Ref blew for ht at 8:40. Second half didn't start until 9:45. Poor fella was in agony on the ground for about 50 mins before ambulance arrived.
