So the fixtures are out for the first round of the championships and it's time to start making some predictions.
Senior: O'Mahonys to retain
Intermediate: Ballinabrackey or Ratoath to finally make the breakthrough.
Junior:Opening game of Curraha vs Bective will tell a lot but I will go for Curraha.
Junior B:There is a lot of second/third teams in this grade but you never know what they will bring from year to year. So with that in mind I will say it's between two first teams, Monaltay and Slane.
Just giving predictions for these four grades. What you think?

Senior.....NOM of course will always be the team to beat however im going to take a chance on Na fianna this year,3rd year at the grade now and just could be ready for the big prize with 2 very good seasons at the level under their belt.VERDICT na fianna...danger...Summerhill
Intermediate.....Ratoaths to loose the experts say,5 players on county senior panel makes them hot favorites and rightly so.My own beloved Bracks will give it their best shot but to make 2 finals in a row is a huge ask for a small club.I think St michaels could be the dark horse in a very easy group and certain to make the semis.Interesting to see how ratoath get on with all the pressure but i expect eamon wallace to be the difference from last season where they bottled against the 14 men of ourselves...VERDICT ratoath...danger...st michaels
Junior.....Would love to see my neighbours Clonard do the business and have a very good chance but i have to say i think we could see a big year from bective.I was surprised to see jody devine switch from st brigids to bective and i think thats a tip in itself.VERDICT bective...danger...Drumconrath.

Senior : Think we we will be thereabouts but taking us out of the equation,NOM will be favs and rightly so , behind them will be Don/Ash will will have that bit between their teeth and will be hard stopped. Inter : Bracks all the way , Great team ethic, Ratoath will fall short not physical enough just yet Junior : Drumconrath, Dotn know whos over Curraha but they bottled it last yr V Dunboyne , Bective I feel are getting weaker

Senior: We always look at Navan O'Mahonys to win it and I feel they can do the double with Reilly back in and the added experience of Rory Maguire. Na Fianna, Summerhill and Don/Ash possibly if not Navan O'Mahonys. Intermediate: Ratoath have the talent there and I feel they will have the grit and determination to do it. St Michaels, Ballinabrackey or Oldcastle could be a good run for money. Junior: Nothing much separating any team come championship in the Junior grade, Curraha or Clonard might be the best Junior B: Moynalty are the go to team, picked up some silverware last year at minor and u21 I think.

Ratoath have E.Walace back this season and I think this year will be the year they make it..
As for the senior champ? NOM may be favorites, but I think the last team to retain it was Dunshauglin,D/Ash may go close again, but I will go for Na Fianna..
