Junior Championship

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Only a few weeks left before it all starts for another year. Was wondering who people think will win it this year. There are a lot of strong second teams, also bective came strong at the end of last year and with their new players they could do it. Will it be the boys from Meath Hill now that they have a top player?

curraha motoring well in the league as are alot of teams think relegation will be boardsmill if they end up in it, moylagh would stay up then dunshaughlin to go down. curraha meath hill final id say both looking strong next round of the league should show where a lot of teams are for the championship

Bective lost all their league games so far hardly a threat!! Carnaross, drumconrath, Meath hill and curraha are the teams to watch!

Bective , with their combination of pace and guile in the forwards with steel and strength in the backs will be a hard team to beat. Can see curraha going close also. Watch out for m-hill.

It seems to me that Bective get tipped every year, and every year they fall flat. I think I'm right in saying that 1 semi-final is all they have to show for their efforts in recent years? They're hardly beating the door down.

By the way, has the nonsense of promoting both finalists to IFC ended now that the numbers have been evened out? I thought this was a disgrace of a decision. Denying a team like (say) Kilmainham a chance of winning a junior in the coming years by promoting them after losing a final. No chance of winning an IFC. I wouldn't want to go up in that fashion.

Yeah that's done with now it was there for two years to get to the magical 18... I could never understand that either .....,.16 would be enough.note how poor we are in leinster junior club now after these decisions. It was done away with after 2 years only Cortown went up last year.

Again the clubs voted for this so we can't give out too much as democracy rules in GAA or does it.......

On the other hand junior football is probably more even championship now

Ah right I see, away from home so wasn't sure when it ended. I just know that if I was (still) a junior player and had the double-whammy of losing a final AND then having to play at intermediate level I wouldn't be too thrilled. You've kinda been robbed of the chance of winning a junior which might not come around again.

ok it looks very clear to me that most of the people on this thread don't rate any of the three semi-finalists from last year, which is quite baffling really. In flanagan clonard have best player at this level and it will be an almighty task in containing him. Both simonstown and dunboyne's season will depend on what players are taken by their seniors but to right the later off at this stage is ridiculous seen as the have reach and semi final and final in the last 2 years. Originally i fancied the ha but Neill shorthall missing for the year I don't think they have the quality to fill then void. Saying that a semi final place is definitely a possibility for them. Finally i cant see either bective or meath hill mounting a real challange this year just like the have failed to do so in the past 5 to 10 years

Teach na Teamhrach JFC
Drumconrath v Clonard; This is amajor game to get out of group Drumconrath bet them last year but Flanagan is a year older now. Drums have done well in League but so have Clonard. Maybe Division 3 standard to help Drumconrath

Skryne v Dunsany; Dunsany have survived a tough year last year and should be able to win here

Sunday 12 April

Carnaross v Simonstown Gaels; Carnaross will have there eyes open here as they are back in Junior Football. Simonstown for me

Dunshaughlin v St.Peters; 2 second teams Dunboyne having been unlucky last year will get the ball rolling here for 2015

Bective v Curraha; Curraha to have to much for Bective

Klimainhamwood v Wolfe Tones; Tones fresh from Junior B Will be a test for an improving Kwood but the Wood have a bit more improving to do.

Moylagh v Boardsmill; Moylagh are a bit of a mess Boardsmill not great but good enough to win.
