What's the story with Cillian O'Sullivan ?

(Oldest Posts First)

Does anybody know what his injury is or when he could be back. He would make a difference to the seniors and if the 21's had James McEntee, Rowe and O'Sullivan we would be a serious threath to win a Leinster.

I agree with you..

A few months ago Micko said he could be back in June..

But unlikely to play in the championship,he has been out for almost two seasons now and needs to get back playing for his club as soon as possible first. He has had back trouble and has taken longer than expected, thats all I know..

It all seemed to be kept quiet and is a shame because he would have been huge to the 21's

That is absolutely shocking, if true, what a loss but what a injury to such a young man, i hope the gpa stand up and give him all the help he needs.

Jaysus if his back is that bad he might never play again, mine went out of nowhere 7 years ago and I never played again and there's plenty others like me. He looked a very impressive young player so hopefully whatever way he's recovering he can back on the field, all the best to the chap anyway.

Great talent at hurling and football and its a shame he's plagued with injuries. Amazing how he often comes back seemingly having lost no speed or instinct.

Am I the only one uncomfortable with people speculating about his injury and saying he did this and that, and with others demanding to know exactly what diagnosis he has? "He has a back injury" should be the be all and end all of it really. No need to ask about when he had surgery, or what he's done it etc. I'd be of the thinking that its his business, its not like he'll get back playing any quicker if more people know about his injury.

Yes i would tend to agree with your sentiments Castlebravo. Same applies to players who do not wish to play for the county at present. That is their decision full stop. We do not want players who are not fully committed. I know of one who has decided that education and his career is more important to him at present. I would fully respect that decision. Others have views that may indicate they do not want the discipline of being a team player. In those cases i fully support management decisions on the matter. After all management are much closer to the facts than posters here, where we might tend to speculate to stir the pot.

We're just curious as supporters to know why one of our best young talents isn't playing anymore and so I don't think is in any way unreasonable to ask a few simple questions. Also we're not looking to know intimate details about the man, those of course are his own business.

As for players who decide to opt out to focus on education and or their careers, of course their decision should be respected, much and all as we love the Gaa, it doesn't put bread on players tables.
