A few weeks away yet, hopefully Eamon Wallace can get some sharpness in his play because we need him.If we are to get promoted this game is important, but to win this,we will need a major improvement.

Am I right in thinking ye have a couple of first teamers to come back before this?

I was delighted to see Keogan line out at corner back on Saturday night and pick up Mulhall as once he was kept quiet Kildare had no real scoring threat. The fact is that in todays game the corner forward is generally the best attacker on every team and for that reason we simply must keep Keogan at corner back. Admittedly we have a problem at centre back and have had this problem for many many years, I would like to see a natural number 6 being selected in this position and the two best that I have seen in club football over the past couple of years are Shane Melia and Brian Power. I don't know if Melia is part of the current panel so I would like to see Power get picked for the Roscommon match, he didn't look out of his depth at all on Saturday night playing on the wing and I think he is better suited to a central role, he is quick and strong as well.

I wouldn't want people pinning their hopes all on Eammon Wallace he's coming back from a very serious injury there will probably be a fair bit of rustiness with the basic skills but hopefully he can get back and not have any niggles

Menton has to be left at 7 for the year, wins a lot of breaks, good defender and very dangerous attacking both with the ball and making runs off the shoulder. Been very impressed with him on the wing so far

Ya I know Menton struggled with fitness last year,he was way off the pace, alot of that was down to the fact that he couldn't really shake off injuries. Now that he has,he is looking far stronger, very good athlete.

Yeah ziggy, just hope we get a performance from the team, am not too worried about the result. We need to become more consistant even if its just in attitude and belief.

I do accept that it will take time for this team to develop to full potential. Nevertheless, i still think we can be promoted. After all this is div 2.The big guns are in Div 1. Also i do think we may have seen some green shoots in this team, admittedly not too many. Grinding out the win in last match should push on the lads confidence wise, and i believe management will seize the opportunity to find ways to support team morale and self belief AS A TEAM..You can only say "this is a young team "for a limited time without giving them the support and development they NEED. Assuming they get that support now, then we CAN beat ANY team in DIV.2
I dont think that is being too optimistic, but still i accept we are "a work in progress" CONFIDENCE,SELF BELIEF,TEAM MORALE, and who knows ?

Roscommon are a team who are about as young as our team too, along with Galway and Kildare surely? We do have a young team, but their are a lot of young teams out there.

Think we have to be aiming for a win. It will be difficult no doubts, but if we are to show any signs of improvement this is a game we should be winning.

Anyone know why none of the Wallaces played in Ratoaths league game over the weekend?

Match on 28Feb , still no betting up as yet. Galway at 6-4 win NFL2 outright, but Meath, Roscommon (and Down) joint 5-1.

Joey was due to play with Maynooth on Thursday last so maybe he was just given a break. As for Eamon, I'd imagine they're just taking every precaution with him. Micko probably has Ratoath under strict instructions. I'm only guessing though.
