Fair play to Kiltale, it has been some season and the work they put into underage is paying dividends.

Agree on Paddy Kelly - legend and should be county manager end of. They have the benefit of singular focus on the small ball and are probably the only club in the county that are hurling seriously since early October. This momentum should see them over the line at minor as well as there are a good few on the senior and div 2 panels. It was evident yesterday at the u21 final in terms of first touch and their cohesion was way ahead of Trim who looked to be off the pace. Trim who have been cleaning up at younger underage hurling and won the div2 minor and u21 football, so future looks good for them too.

As an aside it is crazy that the CB is trying to run off these minor competitions in Nov and December. These young lads should be playing hurling in the summer - when it supposed to be played. Hard enough to get lads to play anyway, never mind in the depths of winter.

in reality Kiltale should have 3 in a row in the bag now, they were caught badly on the hop by longwood in semi final in 2013. i cant see anyone beating them next year perhaps in the group stage or league but not when it matters. kilmessan are not bad still though, could be a kilmessan v kiltale final.

Think hurling people are getting ahead of themselves if they think Kiltale are unbeatable. Kiltale had a great year in 2014 but on any given day Kilmessan,Kildalkey,Dunboyne and Killyon can all beat Kiltale. All these teams should haven't beaten Kiltale last year but didn't, Kiltale rallied, got the "rub of the green" in most games last year and won, fair dues to them. It takes a special team to dominate for a few years. Athboy and Boardsmill did it in the 70's, Trim and Kilmessan 90's & 00's and Kildalkey in 10's, all these teams won 3 in a row along with league and minor titles. So IMO Kiltale are a very good team but have a few years to go before proving themselves to be in the same bracket as the "greats" as previously named over the years.

Kiltale's dominance this year was not just at senior level. it was at under 21 and minor also. You cant be certain going into next year but they have to be strong favorites for next years SHC. I would put them in the same bracket as the great teams mentioned in the previous post. They have players from Summerhill on their teams now whereas that wouldnt have been the case in the past and those players have been well developed by Kiltale management so they are much stronger than they have ever been. In my opinion 3 in a row is more likely than unlikely. Trim and Na Fianna to be their biggest challengers in the coming years.

Dublinboy I think you will find that last year killyon knocked kiltale out of the Brendan Davis cup and also bet them in the league. Trim also drew with the in the league. They are not as unbeatable as some might suggest. Kilmessan Kildalky are not far behind and Killyon or Dunboyne on their day could catch them like Longwood in 2013.

Most of the kiltale team is made up of Summerhill lads so it's very hard for other clubs with just there parish picks to compete with that

Not to be not picky but for the starting 15 there were 2 summerhill guys, and not to mention the lads coming of the bench and involved in the panel!
