Reading the report on HS we are in a bad way for referees, I didn't realise they are so few refs. Have to say standard of refereeing at club hurling games last year or two has being poor. What can we do about it?? Redman7 (Meath) - Posts: 81 - 03/12/2014 11:30:00 1676231 Link 0 |

We could start by clubs/players/supporters not constantly giving dogs abuse to the few hardy souls who are brave enough to do the job. Lads might be a little more willing to do it, if they knew they weren't going to get abuse every time they made a wrong decision. anfearbeag (Meath) - Posts: 1134 - 08/12/2014 20:36:12 1677489 Link 0 |
referees in meath are taking the physicality out of meath hurling, some of the frees in the u21 championship and minor championship that I have seen have been very soft. If they reffed in Kilkenny or Tipp they would be ran out of the county!! overthehill72 (Meath) - Posts: 334 - 11/12/2014 10:19:13 1677965 Link 0 |

there is a serious shortage of hurling referees in the county, coupled with the abuse some get it will become an even bigger issue, not enough done by co board to rectify it either, not enough done by ccc when a serious report is sent by a ref and they do the hearings will overturn it generally, to those who ref our games fair play to you, to say the standard is poor is not quiet right as the standard of the players most times dictates the type of game, just my opinion StickFan (Meath) - Posts: 217 - 11/12/2014 13:46:23 1678045 Link 0 |
