Navan must be kicking themselves

(Oldest Posts First)

Rhode had a good win over Moorefield, NOM must be kicking themselves for letting their quarter final get away!

I'd like to think they're still kicking themselves for getting knocked out by the Longford champions.

sob - you might also like to check out the duration of that game in 1970, compared to the O'Mahonys/Rhode match.

Some folk getting carried away. I think the last goal was conceded seconds before the final whistle. NOM had an extra man for less than 5mins of match.

I was a bit surprised by the standard of the Tullamore pitch as it is wet and unsuitable for winter football and considering that a huge amount of money was spend on an excellent stand. At least the pitch in Navan is good for winter football (but with a poor stand).

It is good to see the Leinster club final going to Navan on the 14th Dec. I just hope the administrators of the CB do not make the same 'hash up' that was made for the senior final- delay of 10 minutes. I see where the stewards are being afforded a 2-day course, perhaps the guys who organise the entry openings/turnstiles/ticket sales should be afforded similar! I wish Ballinlough and Rhode well in their respective finals.

Was not born then sob however the game has changed over the last 44 years, the point i was making was that the scoreline was 4-10 to 0-13,not thats 14 scores to 13 which tells me it was quiet a close game.MY POINT is that when you concede 4 goals in a game nowadays at any level apart from underage in gaelic football the chances are you will lose the game.If you want a prime example in our modern game go back to 2010 when we put 5 goals past dublin hence we won the game well even though dublin kicked 13 points to our 5-09.Now the dubs have never lost a game in leinster since that thumping we gave them because they learned from it.I would question the NOM management in the game in question as if they had done their homework over the last 12 months they would have known if you stop Rhode scoring goals you have a great chance of beating them,in last years final Tullamore came out with a game plan and caused a huge shock by beating rhode in the final by not conceding goals,Rhode more or less wiped the floor with most teams in the offaly championship this year because the standard of opposition is quiet poor but i believe if NOM management did a little bit of more homework they could have been set up better, the 2 sullivan brothers destroyed NOM with their pace on the day and had way too much space, just my opinion and opinions vary.
