Meath for 2015?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Any new additions to Meath panel? with na fianna reaching a semi final and a final in last two years and Ashbourne in the final this year with these players producing at club level surely a few of them should be given a chance on the Meath panel in 2015

Hmm,never read into how club teams do as such..

Don't really see any Na Fianna players good enough for the Meath panel. From Navan we may see Alan Forde return,Shane Melia could get a trial from Ash..

Ye agree with ya there about melia and forde I was at the match last week and na fiannas backs were poor but I think Conor Downey and Michael Farley off na fianna should have a chance next year also I think na fiannas goalkeeper geraghty looks a good shot stopper and would provide good cover for o rourke and even give him competition

Lads it's all well and good going on about our county team but we need to start sorting us out at minor and u21 level. We lose so much talent at that age and let the standards of players with potential drop too. Simple things like getting our top young talent into college scholarships would help. But also proper management of minor and 21 level players.

Nicky judge from ballinabrackey is a no brainer addition to panel this year
And if management are not at least giving the likes of Nicky a try at O'Byrne cup then I think this year will be as bad as last and we will be looking to start again this time next year again. Time to pull the finger out no more settling in rubbish its time to pee or get off the pot.

Additions to panel is not all we need, additions to management also needed

Have to agree about Nicky Judge, I'm not a Ballinabracky man but he was the best footballer I seen in the intermediate championship this year would like to see him tried out with the county.

SEADOG 54 AGREED But changes in Management style, upgading of management competency generally including all key skills are now essential to avoid further embarrasement . Maybe we might even see a massive improvement in team spirit, and pride in wearing the county jersey from ALL panel members in the league. That would be nice to start with .

Agreed there has to be a shake up in backroom team too.
Hooter yeah a outstanding talent and a back too a area we have been missing the past couple of years.

Meath have to travel to Aughrim again next summer or is there a home/away arrangement in place. If not Meath should try and get it played at a neutral venue like Portlaoise.

I'd imagine Shane melia and forde will get a chance as with a few more Ashbounre lads, with na fianna I'd say Downey and Dan Queeny will get a chance since they never got a try after meath u21s 2 years ago! I wonder will Micko stick to the development squad ? Is it working out?

We're down to play Kildare next Thursday night in Kilcock.

Billy17 we are ok for goalkeepers. Judge deserves a shot but I don't think he'll cut the mustard at the top. Peader Byrne was the best player in the intermediate final but not sure he'll go back in.

where is kilcock? The intermediate standard is very poor so it's all well and good doing it there but i doubt peader wants to go thorugh another gruelling season with the county.

For us to return to some sort of respect. We need 3 guys. Mcentee + 2
That's it. Without those we can forget about next year.

Finished 1-9 to 1-9. All I know is Foreverroyal and Royaldunne lined out at midfield.

after yesterdays final, meath going nowhere next year or year after, minor and under 21's leaking good players to other codes/sports. nothing on offer from county teams, hope to find nuggets in the lesser divisions of the junior league.??
