Any new additions to Meath panel? with na fianna reaching a semi final and a final in last two years and Ashbourne in the final this year with these players producing at club level surely a few of them should be given a chance on the Meath panel in 2015 Billy17 (Meath) - Posts: 13 - 10/10/2014 15:49:12 1662415 Link 0 |
Hmm,never read into how club teams do as such.. ziggy320001 (Meath) - Posts: 2432 - 10/10/2014 16:06:21 1662422 Link 0 |
Ye agree with ya there about melia and forde I was at the match last week and na fiannas backs were poor but I think Conor Downey and Michael Farley off na fianna should have a chance next year also I think na fiannas goalkeeper geraghty looks a good shot stopper and would provide good cover for o rourke and even give him competition Billy17 (Meath) - Posts: 13 - 10/10/2014 16:53:31 1662456 Link 0 |
Lads it's all well and good going on about our county team but we need to start sorting us out at minor and u21 level. We lose so much talent at that age and let the standards of players with potential drop too. Simple things like getting our top young talent into college scholarships would help. But also proper management of minor and 21 level players. Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 10/10/2014 17:14:31 1662471 Link 0 |
Nicky judge from ballinabrackey is a no brainer addition to panel this year royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 10/10/2014 18:15:04 1662492 Link 0 |
Additions to panel is not all we need, additions to management also needed seadog54 (Meath) - Posts: 2142 - 10/10/2014 18:59:09 1662508 Link 0 |
Have to agree about Nicky Judge, I'm not a Ballinabracky man but he was the best footballer I seen in the intermediate championship this year would like to see him tried out with the county. hootervillian (Meath) - Posts: 308 - 10/10/2014 19:37:11 1662517 Link 0 |
SEADOG 54 AGREED But changes in Management style, upgading of management competency generally including all key skills are now essential to avoid further embarrasement . Maybe we might even see a massive improvement in team spirit, and pride in wearing the county jersey from ALL panel members in the league. That would be nice to start with . nobull456 (Meath) - Posts: 1222 - 10/10/2014 20:21:06 1662528 Link 0 |
Agreed there has to be a shake up in backroom team too. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 11/10/2014 10:44:56 1662583 Link 0 |
Meath have to travel to Aughrim again next summer or is there a home/away arrangement in place. If not Meath should try and get it played at a neutral venue like Portlaoise. Jack L (None) - Posts: 3099 - 11/10/2014 13:09:38 1662632 Link 0 |
I'd imagine Shane melia and forde will get a chance as with a few more Ashbounre lads, with na fianna I'd say Downey and Dan Queeny will get a chance since they never got a try after meath u21s 2 years ago! I wonder will Micko stick to the development squad ? Is it working out? RoadRage (Meath) - Posts: 52 - 11/10/2014 14:37:50 1662653 Link 0 |

where is kilcock? The intermediate standard is very poor so it's all well and good doing it there but i doubt peader wants to go thorugh another gruelling season with the county. Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 11/10/2014 21:24:35 1662769 Link 0 |

after yesterdays final, meath going nowhere next year or year after, minor and under 21's leaking good players to other codes/sports. nothing on offer from county teams, hope to find nuggets in the lesser divisions of the junior league.?? royalwill (Meath) - Posts: 21 - 20/10/2014 16:38:52 1665565 Link 0 |
