As with all levels of County Football their are good people that put their heart and Soul into it for the sake of the County , however there are also a lot of nepotistic interests that only want to be involved because their little one plays, and sometimes, though not always overlook potential talent that could make a difference because they have their own agendas to fulfil . Looking at the Ladies finals in Croke Park this week end. Should Give all Meath LGFA Development team coaches and mentors a baseline to look toward , (this is the standard that must be achieved)Connect with the Cork mentors , sit down with them and see what their recipe is . Its not by accident that they have dominated the LGFA for so long, an delegation to Cork fromt the Meath LGFA should be arranged to try to see what they are doing year in year out to rem retain the dominance , (a team of the likes of Phil Fay, Lar Wall,Martin Donelly , Ollie Bowe et al) should reap dividends from garnered systems . Cork, Dublin, Down , and Wexford displayed skills and precision and above all speed in the execution of the skills of LGFA that would grace any Male game. However looking at the displays of some of our Ladies County teams, one thing stands out and that is that we appear to move at a lower pace that most of our opposition . And that only our stars appear to be have a turn of pace to threaten the opposition. Build a team on a good fitness base, slap on a good speed base, and then slap on the skills at speed , and then maybe we can start again competing at the highest level. There are good coaches out there that are willing to get involved at Dev level . Maybe the internal closed shop system that appears to be in place with the LGFA needs to be countered for the sake of the ladies game .

Meath are struggling at Senior inter county level at the minute. Management are trying to bring through new young players at present and I think they should re-grade back to the intermediate championship and build from there.

Agree with Diego, regrading to Intermediate is worth consideration.

Diego is probably right about regrading. I reckon the Meath ladies suffer the burden of being associated with the history and pride of the Meath men's teams.People expect the Meath ladies to do what the Meath men have done. This means that its seen as a disappointment when they arent winning Leinster and All Ireland titles, when the truth is that they have never even been close to getting that far anyway.

I think Gaffney Twins would be perfect young players to lead the senior team forward, they have pace and power and bring excitement to the game.

Alot of progress being made at club level, all grades are definitely more competitive with 2 and 3 teams in each grade battling for top spot. Standards have greatly improved.A couple of teams to watch for the future, Dee Rangers have serious potential, they might follow in Simonstowns footsteps and come out top of the Intermediate ranks next year.
Simonstown have an excellent structure underage and will be competitive in senior next year. Summerhill, St Michaels. Royal Gaels, Ratoath,Dunsany- all tough teams. Ballivor and St Colmcilles are progressing well.
St Ultans, Senchalstown,Boardsmill, not a whole lot between them. Na Fianna knocking on the door there too, think they will be strong next year. Oldcastle missing a few key players this year for one reason or another but if they can regroup they will up there too.
O'Mahonys Similar to Oldcastle in that they missing a key players this year but again have shown in the past that they have some potential.
Was a stage when alot of teams were folding/dispanding, seems in recent years theres few new clubs who have regrouped or together for the first time- all have done well. Its great to see.

Goo Luck 3 teams competing in Leinster this weekend, 2nd stage for Simonstown and Dee Rangers, Senchalstowns first outing in the Leinster Campaign this year.
